Advantages: Good players
Disadvantages: Dont work as a TEAM
England has had a lot of managers and coaches in the last decade or so, and there has been more good than bad, who can forget Graham Turnip in the early nineties, ooh, that really was awful. A sign of an awful team is when you can only beat part-timers San Marino 7-0, that does make you look bad! ( no offence to Scots there!). Anyway, things really started to look up in '96 when we were under the brilliance of El Tel, Terry Venables, we came so close to the final of Euro 96, if we did go through, then we surely would have won too, Czech Republic would not have provided that much of a challenge, and we would be considered great. But that tournament was still a huge success when compared to our recent outings in International football. Keegan didn't even get us through the group stages iN Euro 2000! Euro 96 gave us hope for the future, we pounded our northern neighbours, in a match that includd the best goal I have ever seen, Gazzas superb chip and volley... mouthwatering stuff. That was not the only good thing about Euro 96 either, oh no. We hammered the giants, and favorites, Holland, 4-1. That result made the world sit up and take notice, although in hindsight that could have been a bad thing as the Germans tried harder than they would have normally.Never mind though, we put a good show on, and we improved. But the Tel ahd to leave just as we were starting to get good, and Hoddle took over. Glen Hoddle is a good manager, and used to also be a good player but the papers didnt like him so we were turned against him. He put on beckham and made him the star he is today in my opinion. Keegan came next after Hoddle said something about disabled victims...and he was terrrible. He was the worst manager we had in ages, maybe even worse than Turnip. We needed a good manager again, Sven Erikkson was here. What will he be like in the hardest job in football. Only time will tell. Thaks for reading.
