Advantages: David Beckham, Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard

Disadvantages: Seaman's getting old, We're still 6 points behind the Germans

We're all currently witnessing the Eriksson Revolution. We've finally got a manager who can make the team play together. Remember the dark days of Keegan when we had 11 good players on the pitch, the only problem: they don't look like they want to be there or at least with the people their on there with. Well now Eriksson's changed all that. He's managed to create a team with belief and understanding. We can all say that he was lucky that he came in with this flood of young stars but can u really say that Keegan would have brought in all these brilliant players and even if he had, would he be able to have them playing together like they are now, i doubt it. Would Andy Cole have scored his first goal for England? Would Keegan even be playing Steven Gerrard? Would Michael Owen be back on top form for England? Would England be beating Mexico 4-0?
Would David Beckham score against Finland in open play? (would beckham score against Finland full stop actually) I don't think so. If u watched the Mexico, especially the first half, u'd realise how well England r playing at the moment. Though there is still a danger we won't qualify, i think we will. i even think we'll win the group. we're much better than the germans now. G-d damn it i hope they were watching the Mexico game. They should be scared. We're 6 points behind Germany with 1 game in hand and Germany aren't exactly on form, a draw against the Fins showed that. If we win our catch up game and beat the Germans, which we should, then we'll win the group. We're playing better than i've ever seen. Finally English sport is on the up!!! I think Eriksson's found the right strike force in Owen and Fowler as they are both great strikers and as they play together at club level as well they know about where eachother will be. He's still experimenting with the left-side of midfield but personally i think Joe Cole could slot in to that position. Apart from th
at, Beckham, Gerrard and Scholes seem to work off eachother well, especially Beckham and Gerrard. The Robbie Fowler goal against Mexico showed that. The defence is may be a weak position but it's still quite strong. Ashley Cole is definitely the man for left back. He's a great defender, isn't afraid of anyone, he can run at people on the other side of the pitch. Neville is strong and hard to beat and works well with Beckham with the overlaps. Sol Campbell is simply brilliant in defence and is doing excellently and its the same with Rio Ferdinand. We should bring in Martyn now as it's better to make the change earlier than late. Seaman's still great but he's not gonna be around forever.

To sum it up, English football is on the up.

I agree with what you're saying but it's a bit rough around the edges. You could've done with some paragraphs.

England do look good at the moment but we haven't played any of the world's best sides. The real test would come if we played against Argentina, France or Italy.

Northerner' s right about Eriksson. He has had practically all the same players but he's shown with his tactics, squad and team selection plus his appropriate man-management displayed at Lazio that he really could get us competing with the best.

Good opinion.
