My dads name is Tony, well Anthony, but everyone calls him Tony! :-D

My mum and dad have been together for almost 40 years, and married for well around 38...I'm not 100% on the exact amount of years! But they are still together after a very long time! I know that!

My dad is now 67, he was 47 when he had me which is considered an old dad, but I loved having an older dad as it meant as I was growing up it meant he was always at home, he retired not long after I was born due to as far as I remember a back injury.

So since I was about 5 or 6 my dad was always home, and it meant i built up a good relationship with him!

Now growing up obviously me and my dad didn't get on 100% of the time, teenagers rarely do! But we had a happy relationship, I was a relatively good girl, so I didn't get shouted at much!! haha!!!

And he was always there to fix stuff for me, and put sheves up!!!!

Now that I'm older, I have moved away from my mum and dad, and we are so so sooooo much closer now I don't live with him...sounds daft!? But its true, me and my dad are too much alike, both moody sods!!!! And so when I lived at home with him, I tended to get in a mood with him over silly things, and he with me! But when I moved away from home, it was like I appreciated my dad alot more, and now I find myself sitting here missing him most days!!!!!! But my dad and phones and computers don't really jam well, so it tends to be only when I get to go down to where they live that I get to speak to him! But when I do, I'm glad of it!

I think I was very lucky growing up to have a loving family, and I was one of few in my year at school whose parents were still together. I have always had a good relationship with both of my parents, and I love them both to pieces...I probably don't tell them that enough! But I know they know it!

For anybody out there who doesn't get on with their dad for whatever reason, i feel sorry for you, I couldn't live without my daddy! :-D
