Advantages: makes constructive debate!

Disadvantages: none

To be honest I feel we approach this debate at times with our eyes blinkered. If you look at the world overall then the most rational view of human evolvement is that we most probably descended via apes or something similar, not just because of scientific evidence but because other species are changing and evolving all the time albeit very slowly. We can see this by looking at all the evidence available since time began and whilst I cannot be 100% certain this is by far the most likely reason. People from all over the world will have different opinions on this, but if you look at how many people believe that Coranation St is real and cannot work out how so called magicians do their tricks, then Surely this is the most logical truth!. I have nothing against anybody who is religious but I just feel that their view is based more on faith than reality!.

Since I have rated this article as "Not Useful", I feel obliged to make a brief comment in the hopes that you won't take it personally, and to stimulate you to further study. :-)

To begin with, like many pro-evolutionists, you make bold statements but utterly fail to substantiate them. You declare things are changing, and this you say constitutes the evolution which head-in-the-sand 'religious' people disbelieve. You are suffering from a severe lack of information on both sides of the argument. No creationist refutes change in species, in many senses of the word "change" - too often people use the word evolution to mean a whole variety of things; they equivocate, calling one thing that is true "evolution", and thus declaring the other thing that is not true, that they have labelled under the same banner, to be true also.

Many "evolutionists are guilty of the fallacy of equivocation". (Dr Jonathan D. Sarfati, Ph.D., F.M.)

Scientists use the word 'evolution' in two different ways:

1) A change in gene frequency with time
2) The theory that all living organisms have a single common ancestor, which itself came from non-living matter.

Simlpy because #1 holds true, which no creationist doubts, it does not imply that #2 follows.

I recommend you examine the following article. It's fairly lengthy, but you will observe how many evolutionists do not actually understand the position of creationists, and you will hopefully begin to understand the difference between species changing - via the sorting and loss of genetic information - and species evolving in the molecules-to-man sense by gaining information.
