What a promising game it is going to be.. (FA Charity Shield)

I am really looking forward to the charity shield, united versus Liverpool is always a big game and hopefully this game will just be as good. For some odd reason it seems as if the football seasons has come round so quickly.

My theory is if United lose the charity shield then they will win the Premiership easily, just look at the times United have lost and how comfortable they have won the premiership campaign. I personally think United will win, they just seem to good and with Liverpool who have other more important games coming up i.e the Champions league match qualifier I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool rest their big names.

It will be nice to see Manchester United's new striker Ruud Van Nistleroy and who he partners up front-will it be Cole or Yorke. For Liverpool Owen and Fowler are looking good and it will be nice to see Steven Gerrard line up against Roy Keane since their new signing won't be playing due to international duty.
Barthez in goal who is a certainty but Liverpool are missing their number one Westerveld so it will be interesting to see if Peggy Aprexhad will do well.

My prediction:
Manchester United 2-0 Liverpool

What I hope:
Manchester United 0-5 Liverpool

Seriously, I do think it’s going to be a great game so many times the hype is too much and the players never live up to expectation. But, I hope it will be a good match and one that will be a good curtain raiser for the coming season.

Look out for:
Gerrard v Keane in the premiership match at Anfield Gerrard scored an excellent goal
Cole v Hyppia, Cole has an excellent record against Liverpool and probably will get on the score sheet if he starts or comes on.
