The beautiful game (FA Cup)
Member Name: CupidStunt88
Advantages: Shocks and Dramas along the way to the final Disadvantages: My team havnt made it to the final in 12 years :( The FA Cup is the oldest and most prestigious domestic football trophy in the footballing world. What makes me love the FA Cup is the dramas it brings for teams big and small. Teams from your local regions start competing at the start of the season in the hopes of making it to the later rounds, which most dont end up getting to, but if they do then they will get the benefits of appearing on TV and getting a substantial financial reward for doing so, which can keep a club going for a few years due to the amount they recieve. Getting to the final is hard task to do with many shock results along the way and teams not expected to make the final doing so. Take 1997 for example, my team Middlesbrough got to the FA Cup final for the first time in their lifetime but were subject to a defeat, the season after also brought near glory for the team but they lost their also, we werent expected to get there, but it shows what hard work and determination can do. Summary: The beautiful game + the best domestic tournament = Tears and Joy for some |
