Advantages: Great History, And Tradition

Disadvantages: can't compete with European Glory.

I don't like saying it but the FA Cup is losing its sparkle, which is a shame, but against the Premiership and the Champions league, it is pushed to the bottom and only really a cup for the teams that don't have title and european fights.

The trouble is teams do not want to risk losing players for important games, that could make or break their season. Yes it is still an honour to win the FA Cup, but it does not have the same gains as winning the title or even qualify for the champions league. It does not even have the same finacial value.

The trouble is that if you did have a champions league spot as a reward for winning to FA Cup then you would belittle the league. Its a major problem, that if not sorted out then it could go the way of the Worthington Cup, where noone cares if they win or lose, but it is a good way of putting in the youth team.

What was wrong was Manchester United withdrawing from it, that was just a disgrace and showed where their prioties lie, that said, it was a difficult decision because either way they would be hurting the game.

Its a shame, but as the money in the european games grow, the importance of the FA Cup will be lost.
