I love to read, but for the sake of not listing all books and authors on my shelf I thought I would limit myself to my top 5 fav. Authors. I also wanted to answer the questions that other people have answered so depending which version of this topic you want to read here is both.

TOP 5 AUTHORS (in no particular order)

Helen Fielding

Helen Fielding is an English Author, who became very well know for Bridget Jones's Diary - which are two of my favourite books that I have read again and again and again. Helen Fielding began by writing a column in The Independent and The Daily Telegraph in 1997. In 2005, she returned to her Bridget Jones column at the Independent.

The reason I have added Helen Fielding to my list of Fav Authors is because I can reread the two Bridget Jones books and columns time and time again and never get bored.

Jodi Picoult

Jodi Picoult is an American author. She writes quite hard hitting novels about a variety of issues from a school shooting, to rape, to child molestation - all of these are never black and white and they really get your thinking, don't let the subject scare you. Many of the character are found in more than one of her books, usually having a larger part in the story and then a smaller part. I love her novels because they really make me think. My Sister's Keeper is a brilliant one to start with as it is about having a designer baby to save the life of another child, what happens when this child gets older but her sister is still sick.

JK Rowling

The Harry Potter Author, JK Rowling is another English author, how created this amazing world that appeals to both kids and adults alike. She claims that Harry Potter was created on a train ride from Manchester to London in 1990. I love the Harry Potter books and so had to include them here, again they are ones that I can read time and time again.

Stephenie Meyer

The creator of Edward Cullen had to be included in this list. A new author Stephenie Meyer is an American author who created the twilight series. Since finding these books about a year ago I have fallen in love with them, they are brilliant, the character are enchanting and the story fantastic. Edward goes every where with me so Stephenie had to be included in this list.

Jane Austen

Finally a classic author, the lady that brought us Mr Darcy needed to be included in this list. I love Jane Austen's writing and have re-read her novels since I was a teenager (a while ago!).

Q AND A

1) What is your favourite genre?
I love chick lit - it is easy to read, always sucks me in and usually gives me hope of meeting my Mr Right.

2) Do you read the classics, i.e., the great authors of the 18th and 19th century?
I love to read Jane Austen, and enjoy Jane Eyre, both others like Charles Dickens and Whethuring heights - I could never get into other than to read during my GCSEs and A-Levels.

3) Are you interested in thrillers?
I enjoy reading Stephen King, but that is probably it. I should read more, but I already have so many books waiting to be read.

4) What about horror stories?
Again Stephen King, the imagination is so much scarier than anything you can see on TV, but as I often read before bed, I limit the number of Horrors I have. I do love Urban Legends and have a few books on these that I like to read.

5) Do you read Science Fiction?
No, I tried to read one for a book group and just couldn't get into it.

6) How many Harry Potter books have you read?
All of them and The Tales of Beedle the Bard - Love the Harry Potter books and often reread them.

7) Have you ever read and enjoyed biographies or autobiographies?
Yes, mainly from celebrities. I really enjoyed the Johnny Cash story and Judy Garland. I am currently reading a Michael Jackson Biography, and have a Shane Lynch one waiting to be read.

8) Do you remember any of the books you read and loved as a child?
Beatrix Potter was always loved in our house, and Roald Dahl - I love these, they seem so naughty when I was young!

9) Have you reread these books as a grown-up?
I would love to re-read Beatrix Potter and have read a few Roald Dahl, want to read them all to my niece when she gets older.

10) Is there a book of which you can say it has influenced you?
Oh - that's a tough one. All the books I read influence me in one way or another. This is going to sounds really sad but to be honest that book that has influenced me the most is "He's Just Not That Into You" - As I now ditch anyone that doesn't really seem interested, rather than hang around, because I deserve better.

Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult has also influenced me because it made me think about the way I treat others and the significant affect that could have on them, even if I do not realise it.

11) Which are your favourite authors?
See above: Helen Fielding, Jodi Picoult, JK Rowling, Stephenie Mayer and Jane Austen

12) Which book would you take with you on a desert island?
My Sister's Keeper, Bridget Jones, Breaking Dawn and the Deadly Hallows.

13) Do you buy your books/get them from the library/borrow them from friends/steal them?
Occassionally, for my book group I often get them from the library, and I share books with friends.

14) When you buy books, do you prefer hardcover editions or pocket books?
Paperback if possible, because they are easier to carry around.

15) Have you ever tried Audio Books?
Yes twice, I have twilight on audio book to listen to in the car and love it, I also got a Jodi Picoult one from the Library but found it very hard to listen to in the car, and ended up giving it back without listening to much.
