Advantages: Gets rid of junk and re-wrights, encorouages genuing people, saves our time being wasted

Disadvantages: more of it goes on than what we think.

This is another long one from me, and only because I have had two weeks off, so make yourself comfortable.

Now who exactly knows what abuse is and what types of abuse there is? After reading an article called “Large Scale Member Abuse” on the 21/06/2001, It made me look into the matter, and that is by contacting Ciao abuse section and Dooyoo abuse section and well as including a lot of my own opinion in the matter.

*How is ‘abuse’ defined*

Abuse can be classed in a variety of different ways. This is as below (from Collins dictionary);

Misuse
Improper use
Insult verbally
Maltreat
Insulting language.

The Ciao and Dooyoo version of abuse is by rules and regulations are violated. Other minor abuse is by copying opinions and using them for yourself and by registering yourself under multiple account names for extra referral fees.

Now tell me, who thought or new that abuse covers the above areas? Does that therefore include favouritism e.g. only reading your mates opinion and not anyone else’s unless you log out and then read which in fact results in the other writer not gaining there share of writing on opinion in reads. Well in fact, this does come into the use of abuse under improper use and maltreating the system!!!!!

Now, you might as well sit back and relax and drink that nice cuppa as this is another long opinion.

*Introduction *

Lets start back at the very beginning and look at the whole situation. We have all joined up to either Dooyoo or Ciao or perhaps both and we write an opinion about one thing or another, to bring experiences together and share them whether they are good or bad. We then get paid whatever amount per article and opinion read which then goes into our pockets to spend at our will. All agree???? Well let’s continue.

The remainder of this opinion is going to explain the above factors of abuse in four di
fferent ways with each factor being dealt with separately.

*Misuse, Maltreat, and Improper Use Of Dooyoo or Ciao *

What can be classed as misuse? Surely all other the above factors will coincide with each other? Well in fact they do. Now looking at the whole situation, everyone abuses the system up to a certain extent without them actually knowing it, but then really have it in for someone if they do something, not realising that they could have done something more serious.

Now after the introduction, one form of misuse is by rating a friend or someone into the Circle of Friends and they have not got any articles. How can this be, especially when you are supposed to place them into circles of friends when you have read one or more good articles of their work and you believe it to be the truth? Now looking through some peoples circle of friends over the past week of writing this article, quite a bit of this happens.

Another similar thing is that people introduces a friend or relative on there behalf so that the main person gets another circle of friends, so that it looks better on them and they still claim a referral fee!!

Another form of misuse is that if someone has not rated your article very well when others have, you get revenge by down grading their article by downgrading them even though everyone else had rated very good or excellent (or very useful or useful if on Dooyoo). Then they sign out to read the rest of their articles / opinions to get ideas of another opinion for themselves to write so that they then cash in, yet not allowing the writer to gain a few pennies from the read.

Oh yes, this does go on and on a very large scale, more than the next factor.

This is very negotiable. If you sign up to Dooyoo and you get a referral email from a Ciao user or vice-versa. Can this be classed as ‘misuse’ or ‘abuse’? At present it is a n
o from both Ciao and Dooyoo, and this is because both sites what to increase their members on site which then increases sponsors to the site and new web links which then gives the site owners more revenue to keep paying us (the opinion writers).

*Insult verbally and Insulting language *

Now, everyone should be aware of what this covers as no-one likes to be insulted in anyway, whether it is verbally, written, gestures or even heard (so I will apologise now if anyone so far has taken offence for name calling or anything else stated). Verbally can be both verbal and written and in this case it is written. This area covers all forms of sexuality, race, gender, discrimination of any kind (unless it is a carefully written article under the necessary heading)

*The Most Common Abuse *

The most common type of abuse tends to be copying from more than one account for use as their work. Therefore when reading opinions, read them carefully and not glance over them. Also the creating of more than one account to read / rate your own opinions to make more money. Also, reciprocally, rating your friends and family opinions with very useful is not allowed, or even more seriously, hacking into someone else’s account.

Ciao and Dooyoo both have very similar site and rules and they both take this matter very, very seriously. The action that is often taken is that of termination of the member’s membership. Dooyoo however first freeze the article before unfreezing it when the changes have been made. If no changes are made, then the article is withdrawn, however Ciao would rather just remove the offending material.

*Evaluation *

The overall rules and regulations that are issued to members from either site are listed when you sign up to the site, however for those that have not read this, below is a break down and summary of everything stated in the article. For rules and regulations, please refer to the sites terms
and conditions.

- You cannot transmit any content to ciao.com or Dooyoo.com whose reproduction would mean a violation of copyright or other rights of a third party. (This means that therefore you can place the same article on both sites as it is all the same members work and aiming at different clientele, however the third party i.e. Dooyoo or ciao may not forbid the same work being published so therefore read the terms and conditions.)
- The sites will not use any offered site online service for pornographic, immoral, dishonest or illegal purposes. The use of these services offered for publishing or other content is prohibited. Equally, the use of anti-constitutional, extremist and/or forbidden groups is prohibited.
- No advertising, sending of chain letters or such likes or offers the sale of products or services.
- Give false or unclear information or register someone including yourself under a false identity when registering
- Will not falsify or the deletion of legends or other references of content sent to either site
- Defamation or in any other way harass other participants
- No registration of personal data of other participants
- No sending of multiple emails or one large email so as to annoy another participant or affect their use of web pages
- The conducting of activities which cause inconvenience, annoyance or needless anxiety to others
- Will not conduct activities which violate the privacy or property rights of others
- Will not infringe laws or any other regulations in context of the participation in the online services offered by ciao or Dooyoo.

Overall, Ciao and Dooyoo must take this matter seriously. If they don’t then the event that they will have any members’ left is minimal, as they will all get fed up of reading junk on the site. Due to this, all members should read a variety of articles, rating the article adequately. We need to let ciao and Dooyoo to work on our behalf to
get rid of these kids that think these sites are just for a laugh so we have to start taking the site seriously just to help ourselves.

It may also be helpful to ciao and Dooyoo if they had a specific place on their web site so that members can write a message so that it is brought to everyone’s attention rather than to and from emails which could delay the process of combating abuse on these sites.
