Dooyoo originally started as a website designed to aid the consumer in making purchasing decisions, I believe that it has evolved beyond its general concept to become a site that deals with opinions on everything. Some of the topics have no consumer relevance and I struggle to understand why Dooyoo pays money the opinions written in these topics. I am not complaining as the addition of Speakers corner and the community opinions allow Dooyoo users to interact with other users. This is not really the purpose of the site though. I think Dooyoo is slowly heading towards becoming the new writtenbyme.com and that could upset a lot of the users on here. The majority of users on here have very similar views and when someone comes along and challenges these views they get all upset about it, Well get ready for more. I suggest a lot of the Dooyoo do-gooders go and read some of the opinions on writtenbyme.com to see what a lot of the world thinks about various issues, debates rage for weeks at writtenbyme.com where some very controversial topics are discussed. If someone was to write those sort of opinions on Dooyoo they would be reported to the Dooyoo police within minutes because the many readers on here will not listen to an opinion that challenges you to really think.

A suggestion for Dooyoo to prepare the users for this change of direction would be to reorganise the way that the top opinions are displayed for each topic. At the moment if you goto any topic in Speakers corner with over 10 opinions written on it you will find that the top 6 are long, basic, descriptive, uncontroversial, boring and written by do-gooders. This is not true of every writer but is a fair generalisation. If someone dares to write something that is politically incorrect they are jumped all over and handed a SU or NU, I believe that a new rating system for Speakers corner should be introduced to stop people from handing out negative ratings to the some of the more controversial amongst us.
A slight improvement would be to put 5 opinions at the top of the list according to how many stars the author awarded the topic in Speakers corner. This is not ideal but it would stop readers from seeing 6 rose tinted opinions in a row.

I would like to see a messageboard added to the site as too often the comments boxes become cluttered with off-topic conversation or insults. I also believe that this messageboard should be uncensored and have mentioned my reasons for this in detail in my opinion on the Opinionated community.

If Dooyoo is heading towards being a genral opinions website rather than just a consumer website then this opens up many exciting new topic areas. Political ideology was suggested by one writer and I would love to see a section on that in Speakers corner as well as maybe an open topic area where an author can write about anything he wants. It is probably noticeable that I am quite happy to write about controversial topics although I can understand why some people would object to more of these topics appearing on the website.

This is only some suggestions and feedback, if I think of any more I will update this opinion.

What does everyone else think? you cannot say that Dooyoo is still solely a consumer website, so do you like the way things are heading or would you prefer them to stay the way they are?
