Advantages: Great value for money, a family company that can be trusted to provide quality, educational toys

Disadvantages: None- a great brand name of toys that never disappoints

Fisher Price is a well recognised family brand of pre-school toys that has been around ever since the thirties and has gone through all manner of changes and take-overs during it's existance whilst still managing to maintain the family values and quality for money it has always been known for. One of it's best loved ranges, The Little People, began life in the sixties as The Play Family and the company itself has been owned not only by the family who first created it but also by Quaker Oats and more recently Mattel. The company's success can best be explained by the fact that Fisher Price consistently supply childrens toys specifically designed with children's learning, interaction and development in mind that are also fun to play with for adults and little ones alike.

One of their more recent ranges is the Laugh And Learn range of toys that includes both a Piggy-bank with plastic coins and a novelty kitchen (see my seperate reviews) as well as a fun chair that makes all manner of sounds and sings interactive songs when you sit in it and a little purse that can be carried and comes with accessories such as lipstick, keys and mirror. These are all designed with learning in mind whilst still providing much enjoyment and entertainment are a fine example of what the Fisher Price brand does best! Of course, you can expect to pay a little more for toys marketed under the Fisher Price umbrella but, by shopping around, you can normally find good deals and bargains on many of the toys available both on and off the 'net.

Ever since we had our daughter, myself and my wife have bought numerous Fisher Price toys often more by accident than by design- not because we spefically looked for that brand but because they were toys that we both wanted for our child. It is certainly more by accident that we have bought many of The Laugh And Learn range and that goes for our family as well who have this year bought her lots of Little People toys for xmas without realising that we already had the garage and a Little People play-mat that acts as a road map; with streets leading off complete with signs indicating where some of the available accessories such as the Little People Farm should go.

Over the last eighteen months of my daughter's life, I have discovered that Fisher Price is a brand that can be trusted and relied upon to provide pre-schoolers with lots of fun, colourful and exciting toys. They consistently supply value fore money and never fail to disappoint. The toys from this company that I have bought are among the best my daughter owns and I would not hesitate to buy more of their assorted ranges in the future.

But maybe I'll wait a bit first because with birthdays and christmas only just over, right now my living room closely resembles a Fisher Price toyshop.........lol!
