Advantages: Great for Fisher Price collectors.
Disadvantages: A new model now in Argos.
I was in Woolworths the other day and just had to buy this Fisher Price playhouse for my daughter's Christmas present. For anyone wishing to purchase this toy, it's on sale in "Woolies" at the moment for £25, with two free people and a car, too! My two year old already has the Fisher Price play street, which she loves: it has a garage, pet shop and cafe with little figures and cars which children can move around. Her new addition, the house, is a great purchase and will probably last her until 5/6 years old. Unlike the street scene, the house folds away and has its own carrying handle - ideal for quick tidying away. From the front, there are two doors for the people to be pushed in and out of, and a lovely touch - a doorbell whcih rings when you press it (no batteries required!!) The house can then unfold, showing 5 different rooms for the figures to go in: a kitchen, lounge, playroom, bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom features a bath and toilet which the figures can sit in, something which children love! Some bits of furntiture come with the set, though I can't help feeling that there should be more furniture included in the box. Perhaps it can be supplemented by ordinary dolls furniture. Another disadvantage is that there is a free post-lady included with the set, but the house does not have a letter box (perhaps the "Americanisms" of Fisher Price have crept in and they would argue that you have to pretend there is a mailbox up the driveway. If you have other Fisher Price products, then this is a lovely supplement to them at £25, though I would not pay much more than this, as more could be included. From looking in the new Argos catalogue published this weekend, it looks as though this house has been updated, but costs more, which is obviously why Woolworths are selling them off.
