Advantages: good toys

Disadvantages: USA sometimes has a better range

I like Fisher price toys, I think they're really sturdy and well made.

The only gripe that I have is that the range made by Matel (the company who own Fisher price) in the USA is different to the range in the UK. They have some wonderful ideas in the states such as a bouncy based mat with a dome over adn toys on the roof, like an extra special gym.

I discovered the difference when as a gift my friend shipped a chair over to me called an Infant to Toddler Rocker. It lasts from birth until 4 (or 40lbs) and can be a static chair or a rocking chair (with or without safety harness). It also has an optional vibrating action which is supposed to simulate what its like in a car, its also supposed to help with colic. In the states it costs around $30 which I would imagine is around £20, but its completley unavailable here and having spoken to Fisher price they did not know when they would be selling it here.

In this global market, it is a shame that there is so much difference in products available

tracey thanks so much for the comment but i went through loads of comapnies and even rang matel in the states and they said due to the export and import laws you can order stuff like cds etc, but not toys to be shipped to a uk address. If you know of one that does I'd be grateful to hear about it as I emailled and phoned loads of companies direct in the USA and they gave me the same information

you know, there are a lot of places in the US( on the internet) that will ship products to the UK. shipping is not that expensive as long as you don't mind waiting for it. It's sometimes worth it.
