The traditional finale to the CART series is usually held in a place called Fontana. The California speedway is a 2 mile oval and is located in Southern California 50 miles East of down town LA in the middle of no where! If you pick up a car at LAX take the 105 east to 605 north then I-10 east into Ontario. If you opt to fly in as I did a strong sense of why am I here creeps over you as your small shuttle plane descends over barren parched land with minimal signs off life! However as the plane banks you catch sight of the fabulous super speedway which has been built smack in the middle of this land and if you are a real race fan the sight sends a shiver ...
