Football shares of course never made anyone any money, they are just for fun I think. I recently thought about buying an actual football club. I'm not rich, not like Brooks Mileson or Roman Abramovich, just a working class guy. How many footy fans do you know own their own football club, one with a bit of history? Not many I guess. It can be done with a little research though. In 2005 I bought Meadowbank Thistle Football Club for an undisclosed sum of money from Mr Ed Sweeney of Dundee. The company and team are dormant but the potential is still there to expand. Retro brands like "Angel Delight" and "Vimto" in the food industry, are ...  Read the complete review

I don?t think that as an investment that a football club share is going to make you rich. If you look on the stock market the only time they move around is towards the beginning and end of the football season when there is lots of speculation on signings etc? During this time some money could be made if you can predict what?s going to happen etc? But as a medium term holding I don?t think you will do well. Long term could be a different story but only time will tell that. I have noticed that there are a couple of sites ...  Read the complete review

Some people would like to own just a share in a football club, but find it expensive and and they need to get an account at a stockbrokers - I have found a small site not great that can supply just one share in Man U Tottenham, Leeds, Newcastle Utd, Millwall FC Aberdeen, Celtic FC, Aston Villa, Chelsea FC, Charlton A, Preston North End FC, and others. The shares are free but there is an admin fee to register the shares into you name, this is an ideal gift for any football fan. the site is at www.oneshareservice.com ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Football Club Shares: Want a share of David Beckham? (841 words)

You could if you wanted to, you know! You could buy shares in Manchester United without a great deal of trouble. Just pop along to the Bank and I'm sure they'll be only too willing to oblige. You could even buy them over the Internet. The question must be though, are you buying them as a serious investment or for the interest because you're a club supporter and being a shareholder gives you a feeling of greater involvement? On the face of it shares in football clubs should be a good investment. There are millions of fans itching to pay to see their favourite team. The broadcasting revenues exceed a billion pounds and that's without ...  Read the complete review
