God, this is what this man is called on the Kop and rightly so in my opinion. Having been a Liverpool fan for years and due to my age not really remembering the glory days of the 80's i have been brought up watching false dawns as a Liverpool fan and also some very poor teams. But every now and again comes along something can put the warmth into every red fan in the world and in my opinion the shining light light of liverpool since the start of the premiership was a young Toxteth lad named Robbie Fowler. I always think its quite sad about Robbie Fowler, he was a supremely talented goal taker, possibly even more so than Michael Owen but he never really hit the big time as everyone thought he would, a Liverpool player from the youth team where he broke goalscoring records (Which in turn were broken by Michael Owen), he made it into the first team at a very young age. Fowler played and was considered one of the great talents produced by Liverpool and yet for me he thoroughly underachieved, he was never a first choice player for England, he moved around to Leeds, Manchester City, Cardiff and now Australia and due to injuries, never actually fulfilled his ... What can I say, 8 years of legacy as an Anfield legend, but now there is no Robbie Fowler at Anfield. Let me make one thing entirely clear, for the past 8 years I have idolized this hero of the Kop, and I will continue to do so, so long as his legs allow him to play football, he is one of the greatest strikers to ever pull on a Liverpool shirt, and that is a prestigious title, which I generally only hand out to the likes of the great Ian Rush, and Kenny Dalglish. Just because he has moved clubs, a move i personally think may cost Liverpool the title this year, he will always be a scouser born and bred, his heart remains on Merseyside. Robbie Fowler has been ... Read the complete review

For someone who became an Everton supporter as a youngster, Robbie Fowler made a natural transition to become an Anfield legend. The player known to the legions of reds fans merely as 'god' has now played his last game for Liverpool after an £11M move to championship rivals Leeds United. Eight successful seasons as one of the top strikers in the country combined with Fowler's love for his home city will have made a lasting impression on the player. However, it was his ambitions to play at the very top level for England that made up Fowler's mind to move on to pastures new. Fowler was born in Toxteth, one of the less salubrious areas of Liverpool ... Read the complete review

The completion of striker Robbie Fowler's £11 million move from Liverpool to championship rivals Leeds came as a crushing blow to the Reds faithful, who had elevated Fowler to god-like status during his lengthy spell at Anfield. Although the move had been on the cards for some time, it came as a bitter pill to swallow when Fowler's move was made official and he headed to Yorkshire to join David O'Leary's resurgent Leeds. Frustrated by a lack of first-team games between first choice strikers Emile Heskey and Michael Owen, Fowler had been looking for a get-out from Liverpool for some time. Over the past couple of years, the star had been plagued by ... Read the complete review
