Advantages: Pest control
Disadvantages: sometimes not nice to see
Is it a sport, mmmm perhaps not but but i can see why some people may think so. However i believe that it should be used for pest control, not for enjoyment!
'Does the sound of a bugle and a pack of hounds fill your veins with joy and adrenaline or anger and hatred?' - a little biased dont you think there on the description.
Fox hunting started in the 16th century in the united kingdom, but is now all over the world. It involves a chase, tracking, and sometimes killing of a fox by fox hounds. It was band in 2004.
I for one am for fox hunting, always have always been, reasons:
I am a fan of tradition, and thats what exactly fox hunting is!! How long has this country been doing this for?? A very long time! Why suddenly stop something like that? because its cruel? No because a fox is cute!
I have been bought up around hunting, not exactly fox hunting, but others when you go with birds of prey. Have you ever been fox hunting? I think some people are jugding a book by its cover.
Its controlling the population of foxes..yes foxes are vermin! I believe some people forget that they are still that not just cute. They also kill a farmers life stock, chickens and such, and are even known for killing just for the sake of killing.
Why just try and band fox hunting? What about ratting where the dog kills a rat...oh because rats vermin? rat kills and eats stock and plants? What about fishing? any kind of other hunting...not tried to be band yet, but fox hunting?
They have made fox hunting turn to the wrong thing, catching them in traps? Shooting them? Can you not see that this is worse? With the traps..there'l get caught and maybe not seen for days, instead laying there waiting to die! Shooting them..what if they miss there target and they are left injured? Hurt again for days if they escape, leading a slow death. Where as with dogs, it is over in a matter of seconds!
I can understand why people think so what about the dogs, they can be breeded out of hunting yes, but if they can kill the dog in seconds rather than a bullet. When you watch fox hunting on the tv yes sometimes it does look inhumane (im not that good at spelling) but go, and you'l see what its truely like, its not like that at all!
Dont get me wrong, i love foxes, any kind of animal for that matter, more than the next person, but i still believe that fox hungting should not be banned!! Also dont judge me because im for it, thats just ridikulous, im just merely stating my opinion!
Summary: Im for it. end of

- 21/12/08 I beg to differ Leanne8686 my neighbours 13 ducks were needlessly killed by a fox. Unfortunately foxes are now urbanised and are not afraid of humans and will stand their grounds and stare you out. I dont know where you live but the south is rife with Foxes and even on the streets of London there is not a week goes by that I do not see a fox. They do need culling although I am not an ardent fan of fox hunting for the sake of it and having it chased to the point of exhaustion then ripped to shreds by the hounds. |

- 25/11/08 the fox population does not need to be kept under control, there are hardly any foxes you're lucky to see one! they do not kill just for the sake of killing, what a load of rubbish, if they kill something to eat (which is rare) and seem to have left it without eating its only because they've been scared away!
u cant write that then say u love animals |

- 21/10/08 I have always accepted that the fox population may need to be kept under control, but I wonder whether this is the most effective and humane way in which to do it. |
