Fox hunting is a barbaric thing, especially in this day and age. Groups of people on horseback with a pack of blood-thirsty hounds intent on chasing a poor helpless little fox to the point of exhaustion before ripping it to pieces all in the name of sport. The pro-hunting groups argue that the countryside lifestyle would be brought to an end ... Read the complete review

One of my uncles manages a farm and although he does not participate in fox hunting he knows people that do. I asked him for his view on the subject when I saw him at Christmas and this is roughly what he said to me. I know people who go Fox Hunting. Some of them I hate and some of them I like. What a lot of people don't understand is ... Read the complete review

Oh people know me, they know me only too well - if they don't know that I'm anti-hunting then to be honest they don't know me at all, and well I still think they're going to know what to expect from this opinion - it wasn't wrote for money, or to make pro-hunters blood boil, simply a look at why I feel this ban HAS to go ... I have of late been witness to some very malicious bullying going on under this dooyoo malarky . One of their 'Guru's' no less , plus girlfriend have been stalking the opinions of a very dear friend of mine (who is an extremely NICE person ) and taking it in turns to slate her opinions and thereby lower her ... foxhunting for me resembles the roman Games of old ,when the crowd used to roar their approval at humans being ripped apart by wild animals .It was the gentry of that day that were involved too , although many well to do people today are against this terrible act .This planet has a balance of its own predaters , which if humans hadnt ... Here goes another unpopular opinion - I have a feeling that I am going to be penalised for my lack of partisanship on this issue. But what the heck ... I don't like hunting and I don't like the mental atmosphere that I detect amongst some of the people who do engage in hunting. I don't like the excuse that it gives to ... Read the complete review

It gets sillier. Yet again we have the unbearable in pursuit of the unspeakable in pursuit of the uneatable. Perhaps, when we are all well fed, when we are all able to go to bed each night confident that the world is doing its best to be kindly, and to prevent harm to humans, then we can resolve to do something about foxes. In the ... Read the complete review

We live in the year 2000 AD and the barbaric sport of fox hunting still exists, why? I simply can not understand or comprehend the argument for fox hunting. I can agree that fox culling maybe necessary (spread of disease and protecting livestock etc) and there are many humane ways of controlling the numbers, in the same way with rabbits ... The arguments in favour of fox hunting are a joke. I understand fully that foxes can cause farmer's land alot of damage and need to be culled, I will never believe it necessary for a large group of people to get on their horses, take a pack of dogs, chase a fox for miles until it is exhauseted, and then rip it apart! There are many areas ... Read the complete review

First of all, I should say that I don't agree with fox hunting as a sport. But do I want to see it banned? Sorry, but no. I live in the country - last year, a friend, who owns about 100 free range hens had a fox get into the compound where she keeps them one night. Result - 38 hens with their heads/wings/breasts ripped out - most dead, some ... Read the complete review

Without wishing to raise arguments about which animals have a right to live (because they are sweet and cuddly) and which don't (because they look ugly and bite you) I think the whole essence of the foxhunting debate is based around cruelty to an animal which many people see as an amusing, cute lovable rogue. If we were talking about hunting ... Read the complete review

I heard someone on the news say: "It is a necessary task that has to be done, if there was any other way, we would do it" 1) I can see why it is preffered to have the foxes killed, but who says you have the right to control another persons life? 2) Any other way? have you tried rellocation? I know I dont know all the ... Read the complete review

Foxhunting - that old chestnut again. A time to get out the big book of arguments, blow off the dust and time to attack each others arguments - again. Question 1 - is it a means of controlling the fox population ? Fox hunting is not a countrywide activity. Foxes are widespread and they inhabitat many urban areas. I haven't ... I cannot pretend that I understand the art of fox hunting as a sport. I know and understand all the old arguments about pest control and farmers protecting their land and livestock. I understand (although do not agree with) the argument that if we did not hunt foxes then they would be rampaging all over the countryside. However, I cannot see ... Read the complete review

Now I accept that on the whole, the fox has rather a bad press in the country. He has had rather a lean time of it too in the folk stories which have generally portrayed him as a theiving rascal, and thoroughly bad egg. I accept all this. What I cannot accept, is that anyone could possibly derive pleasure from chasing one of ... Read the complete review
