I am writing this as someone who grew up in the country - my mother used to hunt when I was a child, and loved it. So what exactly did she love about it? Was it the cornered fox being torn to shreds by a pack of hounds? Well she never actually saw this, as the fox is usually killed before the rest of the hunt arrive. What seemed to appeal to my ...  Read the complete review

I abhor cruelty. Cruelty to animals, people, whatever. And yet I eat meat. Intellectually and emotionally I know I should feel that fox hunting is wrong. And yet.............. I lived in Australia for many years. The fox was introduced to Australia and has caused havoc to the native animal population. Foxes are ...  Read the complete review

I’ve tried countless times and spent many a conversation, that readily become somewhat heated, trying to look at the matter of fox hunting and seeing a balanced argument. Sadly finding even one reason for keeping the ‘sport’ has failed me. I say sadly (somewhat sarcastically) as if feel I am somewhat missing on out on ...  Read the complete review

Fox hunting – Is this sport? In a word – NO. I would like to begin by saying that I have read a lot of the opinions on dooyoo about this topic – and I remain uninfluenced when writing my own. I can believe the fact that foxes are a pest, even that they go around killing farm animals – because ...  Read the complete review

I know that they are killed because they are 'pests', but there must be a kinder way, not a sport. - Advantages: yes, foxes are a pest - Disadvantages: It is a cruel form of killing them, barbaric - wiping the blood on the face of the hunter?

Yes, I think that foxhunting is a sport. It’s a competitive activity that requires skill and teamwork. It’s done for leisure and entertainment, and is taken seriously by its participants. Practise, preparation and special kit are also required. There is a goal the participants strive to reach and that is the ...  Read the complete review

I have always felt that fox hunting is wrong and when i was given the opportunity to write a report on it for english coursework i was more than happy to research the topic in great depth. The question of whether fox-hunting is a sport is soon to be decided in parliament. They will of course look at the pros and cons of the activity and come to an informed decision. However, it is unlikely that the decision they do come to will actually depend atall upon the research they have done into the subject, or upon the presentations given ...  Read the complete review

As Survivor whittles down a group of plucky people to one viewer its also here we go again on the foxhunting thing at vote number five. I am aware that this opinion may cause some controversy and so I have to admit I am a little reluctant to put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard. The red fox has been important in Great Britain during the last 250 years owing to its popularity as a beast of the chase. Foxhunting! Is it a sport or a barbaric act of cruelty by rich aristocrats and the likes? You decide.
