Heinz-Harald FrentzenNewest Review: ... the first so in 1999 he moved to Jordan. He got 2 wins in his first season, something we wouldn't see from the Jordan team of today. His results tailed off a bit, but it was still a massive shock in 2001 when he was sacked for what appeared be no reason, just before his home grand prix in Germany. After he was sacked from Jordan, Jean Alesi took his place at Jordan and Frentzen took ... more |

Since I started following f1 in 2001, Heinz-Harald Frentzen has driven for 3 different teams and now he has just signed for a fourth. He has driven for five teams in total. Frentzen started his career at Sauber in 1994. From the very start he impressed F1 fans across the world. He finished 5th in his second race and never finished below 7th during the whole season. In 1997 he moved to Williams and got his first win soon after at Imola. His second year at Williams didn't go as well as the first so in 1999 he moved to Jordan. He got 2 wins in his first season, something we wouldn't see from the Jordan team of today. His results tailed off ... Read the complete review

Anyone who tells me that Eddie Jordan sacked Frentzen simply because he was not performing is lying. Eddie Jordan has given us his reasons, but Frentzen has released a statement which says that the matter is currently in the hands of lawyers, and that he contests all the reasons Eddie Jordan gave for his dismissal. It simply IS NOT DONE. Drivers go through bad patches all the time, and if they get sacked at all it is done at the end of the season. I cannot remember another driver being out-right sacked at any other time, there have been cases where drivers have swapped places with another driver, but never sacked. But look at me going on, ... In a shock move by the Jordan team Heinz-Harald Frentzen has been sacked in the middle of a Grand Prix season. Even more strange was that as a German driver he was sacked just before the German Grand Prix, when the team has a lot of German sponsors. I suppose Eddie Jordan has his reasons but I don’t suppose we will ever get to know the whole story. It appears that Eddie Jordan and Heinz-Harald had a discussion about the way the team was moving and they agreed to disagree and parted ways. This seems very difficult to believe. I suspect that Eddie Jordan is getting very frustrated this year with the way his team is performing and ... Read the complete review

Heinz-Harald Frentzen is seen by most in the paddock as a world champion in the making. He started his career by winning the 1984 German Karting Championship and moved through the ranks of Formula Ford and the GM Euroseries before he came up against his countryman Michael Schumacher in Formula 3 and sports cars, where they both raced for the Mercedes Junior team. Generally believed to be the faster of the two, Frentzen arrived in Formula 1 in 1994 - after gaining some valuable F3000 experience in Japan - to high expectations from the paddock as 'the man that could beat Michael Schumacher'. He drove well in his first season for Sauber, and despite ... Read the complete review

I do not feel that this German driver has had such a good season this year, as after Jordan finished third in the constructors championship last year, the pressure was on to keep that up. Both this man and teammate Jarno Trulli have failed to acheive the high expectectations set by the Jordan faithful this season, as it was expected that these drivers would be closing the gap on the leading two cars, Ferrari and Mclaren. Heinz-Harold Frentzen is a good driver in my opinion but he has struggled for form in qualifying which can prove costly and the reliability of the car has not exactly been great either. Maybe he can pick up some dignity by finishing high up in the final ... Read the complete review
