Oh dear this will be controversial! (Frustration with dooyoo)

Disadvantages: They annoy me

There are a few things that are currently getting on my nerves with Dooyoo so I thought I would get them off my chest.

I will begin by saying that in general I love this site and the people who write here. The majority of you have been so kind to me as I struggle to come to terms with losing my mom, you have joined in with the secrecy of hubby's birthday presents and generally we all support one another. By the way for those of you who wanted to know the surprise for Dave was a Wii and WiiFit - reviews to come when we have used it more.

BUT there are a few things that annoy me and here they are.

No.1 Rating VU when the review is nonsense

This falls into two categories - firstly there are those who just rate VU to everything no matter what presumably to curry favour with others and secondly there are the reviews that just do not make any sense!

This is the one that really makes me cross because the guilty ones are often established members who should know better. I know we all scan the occasional review and rate as others have done but at least make sure that the review makes sense. There are a fair few that are obviously translated from a foreign language and do not actually mean anything in English and as such are NU not VU!

There are also some members who refuse to use a spell checker even though they are given kindly advice to do so and as such their grammar and spelling is so bad it makes the review difficult to read and yet it still gets rated VU.

No.2 Commenting when you haven't read the review

This follows on from the previous one really. If you are going to just rate without reading for heaven's sake don't comment! I wrote a review recently about how we arranged my mom's funeral and got a comment something like - I really enjoyed this book. I was SO cross!

No.3 Expecting reads when you don't read yourself

When I log in I always try to read as many reviews as I can given whatever time I have by working my way through the most recent reviews. When I get to someone who has posted a lot of reviews in a short space of time I always check their profile to see if they are also reading and if they are not I skip to the next writer. I know that might sound petty but that's what I do.

There is also at least one very well established member who used to read a lot but never bothers anymore. He posts his reviews, collects his reads and crowns and does nothing in return. I won't mention names here as that isn't right - even though he wouldn't see it! LOL!

No.4 Inappropriate pictures

This one is going to be controversial - and I must stress this is MY opinion and I respect the fact that your opinion may well be different.

I am not a prude but I don't really want to see half naked photographs when I log into Dooyoo. There are a few males who have pictures, which may be of themselves or someone else, where the subject is wearing almost nothing and whether they look good or not (and to be honest most of them do) this isn't the place for showing your body. It's a review site not a peep show.

Equally there are some of the female members in blatantly sexy poses. We all want to post a photograph of ourselves looking our best but this isn't a sex site so maybe keep the sexy shots for the modelling agency?

No.5 Reviewing something with limited experience

As I said earlier we now have a Wii and a WiiFit but I won't be reviewing them until we have used them both a bit more. How could I give a balanced review after just switching the thing on and taking a look around? I couldn't but some people try to do it.

Another one that annoys me is when someone writes a review about a cashback site before they have received any cashback and thus have no idea whether they pay out or not. I have been a member of 'cashbacksaver' for months now and will get my first £10 in the next few days and then I will be able to write a review because I will have all the information needed to do so.

Well that's that then I have got it all off my chest, it is my own opinion and I don't want to fall out with anyone and as I say I respect your right to disagree with me! LOL!
