Newest Review: ... But for electric cars to be the norm, one further advancement is needed. Petrol stations need to be updated with charging stations for electric cars. If this doesn’t happen then anyone considering making a long journey away from home will not want a car that runs on electricity. I think it will be a while before we start seriously using electric cars – for the sole reason that people cannot drive long distances in them. So, how far have cars come over the past decade or so? Not far? Ok, we’ve improved brakes, with the addition of ABS. Car safety has improved, most cars now have passenger airbags too, some even have rear and side airbags. Cars crumple easier, so in a collision, it will not hurt the driver so much. Car design has improved, with even family saloons looking more attractive! And security has improved a little, with new immobilisers, and some cars being linked to a satellite theft system.
