Gateshead Thunder were a team who played for one season in the superleague. They were unjustly in my opinion kicked out of that league in order to save the faces of those running the game in the heartland of RL along the M62 corridor. The thunder side had played some outstanding rugby in the short time that they existed and had embaressed the likes of St. Helens and Wigan. The fate of the thunder was sealed when Hull were not allowed into the Northern Ford Premiership. It is with joy that I tell you that a new Thunder will shortly rise phoenix like and hopefully perform in the NFP, but only if the application is supported by the majority of clubs in the NFP. ...
