Advantages: Me
Disadvantages: Me, me, me, me, me, me, me.
I'm stuck at home with a cold, so thought I'd take the opportunity to fill this in.
1. How long, on average, does it take you to get rid of someone trying to sell you something over the phone?
As long as it takes to hang up.
2. What is the most expensive object you have ever broken on purpose?
A table full of about 30-40 empty glasses in a pub. But my brother was the one who started it!
3. If you buy something for 99p with a £1 coin, do you really want the 1p back?
Of course! That penny could go in a charity collection box rather than boost the shop's profits.
4. What was the last thing you shouted while alone in a car?
"Get a photo!" (to my friend; I was in an old East-German Trabant).
5. What is your typical path through a supermarket?
Not as direct as it should be as I like to look at and examine everything.
6. Do you lick the underside of the foil top when eating a pot of yoghurt?
No, I scrape it with the spoon.
7. How many greetings cards have you sent in the last 12 months?
About 15? I usually deliver them personally or send emails.
8. A criminal maniac invites you to "Pick a city for destruction, Mr. Bond." Which one do you choose?
Nuneaton. 'Nuff said. (And no offence to Nuneatonians; some of my best friends are from Nuneaton, blah, blah).
9. Which font do you use most often?
Arial - I use it at work every day, but long to break free and use Gothic or summat.
10. If you had the choice between a petrol chainsaw or a bread knife, which would you use for felling a small tree with a 1" diameter trunk?
I would probably just try and pull it up by the roots. If the soil was soft enough it might just work (speaking from experience).
11. On a scale of 1 to 10, how confident are you that you know when to use a semicolon?
I reckon 10; I love punctuation.
12. What proportion of the CDs you own are in their original cases right now?
About half! I seem to have lost some cases.
13. Favourite colour black or white?
Black is the absence of colour and white light is made up of all colours (so I'm told), so I'd say neither. Sky blue!
14. How accurate is the time on your watch?
I don't usually wear a watch; I'm pretty good at guessing what time it is. Or I just ask someone.
15. What are you wearing right now?
A pair of black tights and a hot pink dressing gown. My excuse is I'm ill.
16. Have you ever written to, emailed or telephoned a newspaper, radio station, TV programme etc?
In the 80s I sent a picture into Children's ITV that I had drawn of Jeffrey, George, Bungle and Zippy. It was shown one afternoon - my Aunty saw it but I missed it - boo! It was the presenter Tommy Boyd who showed it - whatever happened to him and his big hair?
This is not strictly writing to a TV programme, but a friend of mine works in TV production and we sometimes try and come up with new shows for her. She thinks my dinner lady reality show idea "Slop Idol" has potential, but it's yet to be commissioned, sadly.
17. Do you, in the most fundamental depths of your soul, give a crap about the extinction of the Red Cockaded Woodpecker?
I think it needs a better PR.
18. What is the cheapest thing you've bought with a debit or credit card in the past month?
Make-up from e.l.f. It cost me 11 quid for about 6 products - I've never tried them before, but they've had good reviews on here. Let's see whether they're any good...
19. Favourite books?
Has to be the Adrian Mole diaries - I love the sarcasm. Also Queen Camilla, also by Sue Townsend, in which the royal family are banished to an urban exclusion zone and Prince Harry has a dog called Carling. Another fave is To Kill a Mockingbird.
20. What is your most favourite meal?
Christmas dinner! 5 days to go!
Summary: Merry Christmas, everyone!

- 01/01/09 Oops, you're right. Nuneaton is "the largest town in Warwickshire" according to Wkikpedia. |
|
- 31/12/08 Nuneaton is, I somehow suspect, only a town rather than a city. |
