Advantages: Erm..., Erm..., Erm...
Disadvantages: Erm..., Erm..., Erm...
I was going to take the really lazy way out and just copy all of Jill's answers, but no doubt I would have had my wrists slapped even though it was a beezer jape. ● Do you believe in life after death? Not in the slightest! The life after death thing has never clicked with me, probably because I never got into the whole religion thing either. Once you're dead, you're worm food. I kinda like that idea. The finality of it all really appeals to me. ● Should smoking be banned in public places? No. I think there are places where it is not unreasonable to expect clean(ish) air ? your place of work being one of them and the prime example. Places like pubs and clubs though are a completely different kettle of fish. Once you get into places such as pubs and clubs where people are choosing to enter, then I think it should be up to the discretion of the owner/manager. ● Is capital punishment wrong? Yeah, I think so; having the judicial system "tell" us that they're allowed to kill people smacks of hypocrisy to me. Of course, you can still quote all the usual arguments against, like "What happens if you get the wrong person?" "Can you ever been 100% sure?" plus the arguments regarding which I do agree with as well. ● Should cannabis be legalised? Yes. Quote all the usual arguments: less policing costs, increase money for government through taxation, a regulatory system for it etc. The day it is legalised, I'm buying shares in Golden Wonder. Plus, you don't get all that skulking around with nasty men in balaclavas knocking on people's doors with guns and baseball bats and drills (well, they do that here in Belfast). ● Is beauty only skin deep? Hey, I know plenty of ugly people who are dead on and I have loads of craic with them. *grin* ● Do animals have rights? Yeah, of
course they do. From the mistreated family pet to those animals farmed for food and the ones used for cosmetics testing. I don't think I feel strongly enough about it to actually be pro-active in any way, and perhaps I should be, but at the minute I'm happy enough scoffing my battery farmed meat and eggs etc. But I hate cats ? nasty, cowardly, slinky creatures. *spit* ● Does Britain still need a monarchy? I don't live in Britain, but if you want to get rid of Liz and her weird family, then go for it. ● Should fox hunting be banned in England and Wales? People in England and Wales can hunt foxes if they like. No skin off my nose. ● Should Britain join the Euro? Gah! More about bloody Britain! The U.K. should join the Euro, yes. To not even consider it is stupid and narrow-minded. What's going to happen? Nothing much, really. Lots of other people seem happy enough with the arrangement, and they're not going to agree to anything which fleeces them, are they? We, as a people, seem to be more concerned with looking backwards than with looking forwards. ● Should all fire arms be banned for private use? Yes! Why do you need a gun? You don't need a gun? Well, there you go then! ● What is your opinion on legal prostitution? It's not a subject I've ever given much consideration to. So? erm? I don't really have an opinion at the moment. ● Are we living in rip off Britain? I'm living in rip off UK. (If I hear one more thing about Britain? Grrrrr!) Petrol costs more than in other countries, and we pay loads more for our cars. Taxation on things like ciggies is getting to a point where I am really concerned about how much the government will lose because it's now very economically viable for people to start smuggling these in on the cheap. The atrocious thing recently was that the music compa
nies are fleecing the public and taking action against those who can supply our music cheaper than the music companies would like us to have it (and that they were allowed to by the government?) It's all boiling down to being ripped off. Although, you can argue that all these things on which we're being ripped off are luxury items and things like food etc. is probably cheaper and better than it's been in years. ● What is your opinion on pornography? I used to work for Royal Mail. During my time in Royal Mail, I saw enough of the stuff to really not let it bother me anymore in any way. That was all printed stuff, of course. I can see how some people can get their kicks from it, but it's not for me at all. So really, if it floats your boat then go for it and if you don't like it then that's an equally valid point of view. ● Is genetically modified food right? I have a problem with GM food in that you'll not catch me using it until I am personally satisfied that all tests that can be done have been done (and done properly). That means that until we see long term tests on crops to see how they go and how they effect their envirnoment, you'll not convince me of anything else. It sort of boils down to a sci-fi story I once read where a race of people did genetic experiments and somewhere down the line, the genetic code simply fell apart due to all the tampering. I've no idea if this has any basis in reality, but it's always something that's strangely concerned me? Next time, less of the Britain and more of the U.K. please.

- 02/07/04 Not sure I like the concept of wormfood but can't argue with the rest especially your closing on GM foods. |

- 29/06/04 Interesting to hear your views on it. I was going to bring up the balaclava/profile pic issue but I see F-L has beaten me to it! |
