Advantages: excellent day out with friends, fun fun fun

Disadvantages: pretty expensive

Paintball is defently one of the fastest growing sports, not is it just fun but an adrenline buzz.
The first time i played it i was a little nervous, and it defently didn't help the pile of kit you were given to wear which is a little daunting, with a mask to protect your face, a pair of overalls, a battle pack and an armour vest.
Once you are all kitted up you are given a saftey briefing where you are bombarded with rule upon rule and how to play the game. What had i entered myself into?
Once i started to play my adreline started to pulse and the excitement kicked in, what was i worring about? Most peoples fears are of the pain caused when you are hit, my experience that it doesn't hurt too much, but depends on where you get shot. For example the hands and neck are the most painfull, and obviously your personal areas, but to be honest you don't notice the pain as your having so much fun.
Each paintball centre is different, some have constructions such as castles/forts, aircrafts, buses, bunkers and villiages. There are different types of games, such as rough terrain where you can hide in a hole or speedball with there is little cover to hide yourself, where the aim of the game is to be quick and nimble.
As a sport it is not exactly very cheap, as you have to pay for your own equiptment and paint, so in my opinion if you were thinking about taking it up try and get into a group of advanced players for a game so experience a proper game.
I loved paintball so much i became a paintball marshall, obviously not the same as you don't get to play but still is a lot of fun. I would recomend paintballing to everyone, but isn't everyones cup of tea.
