Not able to take the stress past the third set I came away from the tennis on Sunday (Lapentti against Parmar).
I was very doubtful about Parmar's playing after watching the doubles, but both his and G. Lapentti's performances were excellent. (There is British tennis after Tim and Gregg)
Managing to win the first two sets by the skin of his teeth, I left Parmar losing by four games to one in the third set.
Although Lapentti went on to win the next three sets, I think both players played brilliantly. There was a low number of double faults, they thought carefully about where to play their shots, and usually carried them out successfully too. What most impressed me with Parmar's playing was his determination. Even when he was at the other end of the court from the ball, he always tried to get to it. I think he lost concentration towards the end, but I'm sure he will improve for next time, when we WILL get back into the top 16
