In the last few years Arrows have inhabited the rear end of the grid. With the exception of Damon Hill their drivers have never performed particually well, that is until this year!! Since their first GP back in 1978 in Brazil, I can't remember a time when things looked better than they did now for Arrows. Their new sponsorship deals and improved car, combined with the good driver pairing of Verstappen and De La Rosa mean that Arrows have been able to challenge mid-field this season. The British-based Arrows team have had a lengthy period in the doldrums since they were a poorly funded team and despite producing attractive race cars they were not deemed competitive. They were regularly expected to be among the back markers with the likes of the Minardi team.Even getting a point would be considered an achievement. It is now beginning to look as though there is light at the end of the tunnel for the hugely popular Oxfordshire-based outfit. Funding has been secured from several sources and recently the Arrows got a very good fifth place at the Canadian grand prix. Jos Verstappen driving a very good race to collect two valuable points.
