I knew that we would get thrashed in this game - though I didn't forsee that we would give them a helping hand - or should I say helping punch.

Sander has been looking a bit dodgy all season and in this game the roof fell in. Instead of catching a cross he tried to punch it and punched it into his own net. Now this really is his first bad blunder so the guy should be given another chance. It wouldn't have been so bad but for the fact that seconds later Hasselbaink made it 2-0. Game over.

Liverpool tried to get back into the game but basically with the players on show in the midfield it was pretty obvious to everyone (apart) from the manager that we would not create any opening for the front players. Houllier must surely now realise that Carragher is not good enough to warrant a midfield place and Hamann is not much better really. We need Berger and Smicer back in the team, thank goodness for the 2 week break. Oh and Barmby - just why did we buy him - he just disappears from the game.

The second half was just depressing. Inevitably we gave Chelsea a third goal, this time Gerard and henchoz making mistakes.

I just hope that Mr Houllier is beginning to rethink his plans because if he doesn't things are not going to improve much!
