Advantages: Strengthening

Disadvantages: Losing Players

Is the January transfer window beneficial or is it hassle? Understandably their are views from both sides. To start with the disadvantage you have to look at the fact that clubs don't want to lose any of their players which Gareth Southgate has stated already. The unrest produced throughout the window when a players name is mentioned leads to unrest for the player in question and they may put their future at their present club in doubt. The main benefit is of course is strengthening the squad which both Spurs and Man City are doing during this window. I believe that the best reason to have this transfer window during the season is to recruit players to replace injured one's which is a situation Everton find themselves in. It is through this window that make's the second half of the season more interesting as positions at club's become more competitive and managers expect the full potential from their team having already had the opportunity to increase the strength in their squad.

Summary: Overview of the window
