Advantages: We will win the cup!

Disadvantages: People beleive English teams to be inferior

Every season a few English teams qualify for one of the European Cups with the hope of becoming champions of Europe.

Every season they seem to fail.

In the past 10 years, English teams have brought home three European trophies - one european cup (Man Utd) and two Cup Winners Cups (Arsenal and Chelsea). The cup winners cup no longer exists, which doesn't really say a lot for English soccer.

Why is it though that English teams can't compete with the high fliers in Europe. Our stadiums are smaller but prices are considerably higher - we should have the same income as them. Also be able to buy the best players. But we don't.
People are often saying how the Premiership is the greatest league in the world. What defines greatest? All seater stadiums? No. Players Wages? no. The standard and quality of football? Yes, yet we don't have the highest or the most quality standard of football in the world.

There is something that always stays in the back of my mind, and I often wonder why it is - there is something inside of me that just says that you will never see Figo, Zidane, Del Piero or Kluivert over here. It just doesn't seem possible, and I don't know why that is.

In the European cup this season everyone is saying how it is a foreseen outcome that Real Madrid will win the cup. I don't understand that. Why? Because though Real may have some of the best players in the world, it doesn't necessairly mean they play as a team. Man Utd on the other hand have been together for years and play as a team. They are a real force when they get going and I beleive they could do it again.

This season we also have Arsenal and Leeds through to the last quarters. I would love to see Leeds win it because they have put down their critics in both England and Europe and got on with the job. They are only a young side and they are competing with the biggest and best in the world.

I know I've ju
st said it, but what actually does 'biggest and best' mean? Everyone considers Real to be the biggest and the best. Along with that we have Barcelona, AC Milan, Lazio, Juventus, Valencia, Bayern Munich.

Yet most of those teams are out, so does that make Leeds and Arsenal big clubs? I can't decide that, though I do agree with Elber of Bayern Munich when he said that Arsenal aren't a force in Europe.

I beleive they will be soon. I beleive an English club will win the cup this season, and that will shut a lot of Europe up.

Come on lads, lets bring Europe on to their knees. Fergie, Wenger and O'leary are coming and you should be worrying more than you are.....
