Disadvantages: Smaller Teams Loose Out
The topic of Glory Hunters is one in which I feel strongly.
Before I start I define a Glory Hunter...A Glory Hunter is someone who will not support their local team in favour of a top team like Rangers of Manchester United!
I know I write in Football in General but I couldn't find a place for this topic and I though it was a subject needing to be addressed.
I live in a town in Scotland, which lies 7 miles away from Glasgow. The town is Paisley. In Paisley, the main football team is St. Mirren, or should I say the one and only team. St. Mirren are a team, who are fiancially in trouble and have an average home attendace of about only 4500...Paisley is the largest town in Scotland! So you must relaise that the majority of people from Paisley..Support Rangers and celtic!!!
I ask many of my friends why...they say..they are the best! Exuse me if am wrong, but I would not favour England against Scotland and I am sure no Scots people would, but ENGLAND ARE BETTER? I am quite willing to accept this, just as I accept lots of team are better then my St. Mirren!!
The bottom line is though that, St. Mirren are my local team...Scotland is my country. To me, I believe it is my duty to support both St. Mirren and Scotland.
If all people from paisley, supported St. Mirren, then would not be in finaicial difficulty and would be a better team but as it stands...the majority of te footbal economy goes to the Old Firm in Scotland..and this makes them too strong to catch up on!!
So think about it..ARE YOU A GLORY HUNTER?
