As a Sunderland fan I have had mixed emotions about last season - getting up to third, then coming away with nothing - losing nearly everything towards the end of the season, and why? Who knows, but I'll always support them - that's the beauty of it. You take the highs with the lows, it all evens out eventually, and so Manchester United should look forward to 100 years of doom! Only joking, I wish I wasn't though! So, football, it's a fantastic sport - don't you think? I do anyway, I always try and teach my nephew - the one I built the train set for, whenever I am there, and I think youth training as a whole amongst the top teams has improved greatly - sure there are many foreigners, but the most influential and best players seem to be English - honestly! Kevin Philips = our best player, man United have Beckhame and Scholes as their's and basically most teams follow this pattern. Football is a game of two halves, 45minutes a piece, in which 22 players take on the referee in order to get as many decisions changed during the course of the match. Although half of them wear one colour kit, the other half another. Ahem. So football can provide excitement, tourment but it's all entertainment - you watch the good games, you fall asleep in the bad - it's part of life, and it's all good. If you don't play professionally, and lets face it - not many of you do, then it's still great playing with mates, or in a team on a Sunday or something. Football is a fantastic sport - you can make friends playing and you can unleash your pent up agression. Would I recommend it? Of course! Thanks, Jester!!!!! WE ALL LOVE FOOTBALL!!! 18th of August, we await you in great anticipation.

TallPaul73 - 26/07/01 I love football, but I support Portsmouth. Another season of dullness beckons. I love the close season more than the season itself because it's less depressing.... :o) |
