Advantages: Quicker games
Disadvantages: Not entirely fair
What is the point of 11 men (or women) running about a field chasing an inflated leather bag? The point is that it builds team working skills, personal acheivements in football are a good stress reliever and make you feel good. Now I have your attention I can voice my opinion on the evil of evils, THE GOLDEN GOAL RULE. If the rules state that each team has to change sides at half time, is this not because one side might be easier to score on? (due to position of floodlights or better condition around the box etc). So if the score was 2-0 at half time and the 2-2 at full time, each team should have the chance on each side of the pitch to allow for the ease of scoring. I know it was brought in to try and stop the competitions having penalty shoot-outs but in my opinion the penalty shoot outs are a much fairer way of deciding the winner. There is nothing easy about taking a penalty ask Gareth Southgate. I would actually like to hear some other peoples opinion on this as it is not something my friends like, they would've written the first few lines and left it at that.

- 26/04/02 I hate the golden goal rule. It's not fair as you state. I don't like the away goals rule either. |
