Advantages: new back four

Disadvantages: United to keep on winning

Can anybody say that were surprised when Rio signed for Manchester United for a huge fee of 30 million i can safely say i wasn't.

Rio had a brilliant world cup and he could have gone anywhere he wanted Real,Barca i would even guess the cash strapped milan clubs, who still have huge wealth in there squads to bargain with.

Fergie realised that the main reason he lost last years championship was mainly due to the loss of a certain Mr STAM and replaced by an ageing world cup hero living on his name. Also the fact that paul scholes didn't really perform all season which is a loss in any side, plus Juan Veron seemed to lose all of his form over night, and it put a big dent in there bank balance 28 million for a sub seems rather alot to myself i know that they are a big club but not that big yet !

It wasn't that Arsenal were much better than united last season i believe it was the fact that Arsenal had the addition of Sol Campbell who made that back four even more compact and they didn't miss the injured Adams and Keown.

I am surprised that Wenger didn't go for Rio because imagine having Rio,Campbell and Cole in your back four you have the defence of the national team.

Fergie is not far off that though himself with Neville at right back and a centre two of Rio and Brown, silvestre at left back who is a french international ok thats not saying much at the moment, but fergie has himself a world class back four and we all know what a wonderful attacking force Man U have and its even better if giggs can stay fit for a season, but there has been rumours that Fergie is after Duff of Blackburn for cover and to push Giggs for a place in the starting line up.

United look like champions again and the seasons hasn't even kicked off yet but a question i ask is how much influence did becks have on Rio in selling the club to him?

In all fairness to Rio all he has wanted to do is improve himself hence h
e moved from Upton park to ellend road for 18 million and in the couple of seasons he has had at leeds then it is clear to us all how much of a better player he has become and i think a big thank you to Mr O'Leary should be added at this point.A former centre half himself who i believe has matured Rio a hell of a lot.

The future looks bright for young Rio playing in the champions league will only bring him on even more which can only be a good thing for united and England.Lets just hope that he keeps his head and lets his football do the talking for him.

United champions again i think so !

o'leary was a good coach, but a hopeless manager. leeds need someone who knows what he's doing to run the club, not someone still learning the basics of football management
