Despite the passionate ops I have written on a variety of subjects in my short time as a member of this site, I have so far skipped around the subject I have most passion for: Sport, and in particular, Football.
Whilst browsing around I have noticed some people have attempted some kind of predictions ops, where they try to predict the outcome of a weeks sporting events, with usually unfortunate results. So let me add my tuppance worth to the list, and I will try to guide you on how to make some money from the main sports events taking place in the next seven days.
P.S I am deliberately avoiding Horse-Racing, as the only things I know about horses is that they are measured in "hands", they go "neigh", they run fast and they poo a lot. I also take no responsibilty for those of you who are actually daft enough to stake money on my advice. Come on, if I was any good I wouldn't be a poor student type, would I?

CRICKET-THE ASHES.

Despite Englands surprisingly decent start to the second test in Melborne, do not back them with a £15 note. This is the poorest England cricket team for quite some time, whereas this is the best Aussie team ever. If England make 450 in their first innings from 294-4, I'll be very impressed. If they somehow do, take the second test to be drawn at a best current price of about 4/5(Coral). See the action on Sky Sports 2.

BOXING-SATURDAY FIGHT NIGHT.

Some very promising British fighters will be showing their skills this weekend. On of them is Junior Witter, who fancies a crack at Ricky Hatton in the new year. To do that he has to first get rid of the useful Giuseppe Lauri. Expect him to do so.
Another fighter of world stature is Johnny Nelson (Sat 8.30pm, Sky Sports 1), who makes the tenth defence of his title against Guilesmon Jones on Saturday. Expect him to be raising his arms in triumph in around 5 rounds.
One fighter who is not a very promising one but i
s fighting on Saturday is "Fraudley" Audley Harrison. The Olympic Superheavyweight champ makes his 8th professional appearance in Las Vegas on Saturday (Highlights BBC 1) against another walking punchbag, Shawn Robinson. Harrison may have less chance of being a future world champion than I have, but he will get rid of this stiff in no more than 3 rounds.

RUGBY UNION.

Saturday sees the culmination of England's autunm series against the southern hemisphere giants when they take on South Africa at Twickenham. After victories against Australia last week and the All Blacks before that, England are strong favorites, 8/1 ON at some bookmakers. DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A 10 FOOT BARGEPOLE. England have on their day the best team in the world, but they are also possibily the biggest team of bottlers in world sport. Back the South Africans, who are not as bad as their results would indicate, at evens with a 12-point start.
There are other international games worth a look at this weekend. Ireland look to follow up their recent success over world champions Australia with a victory against an improving Argentina side. The "Puma's" were impressive at the weekend, beating Italy in Rome, and might be worth a look with a 15-point start at 4/6. Italy look to avoid an Aussie backlash in Rome, while Frnace must be Fancied to knock up a cricket score against Canada.
Wales at home to the New Zealand All Blacks is a mouthwatering contest(Grandstand 2pm). The Welsh will fancy their chances against anyone at the Millenium Stadium, and may be worth a look for the more adventurous amoung you at a generous 5/2.

RUGBY LEAGUE.

New Zealand and Great Britain finish off their three match series on Saturday night (Sky Sports). After Great Britain missed a great chance to level the seires last weekend by missing a drop goal with the last kick at 14-14, the Kiwi's will fancy their chances to ties up the series. Brita
in have not been outclassed, though, and a tasty 2/1 may be worth a small flutter.

FOOTBALL.

This weekend, Sky Sports start the football fiesta early with a high noon shoot out between last seasons 3rd and 4th placed Premiership sides, Manchester United and Newcastle United, live from Old Trafford(Sky Sports 1 KO 12.15pm). As some of you will know, I am both a Geordie and a passionate Newcastle fan, so don't expect too much impartiality here!
Seriously though, Newcastle will never have a better chance to end their woeful record at "The Theatre of Dreams", with Man Utd missing Ferdinand, Keane and Beckham, and facing a growing storm of critism in the light of some recent poor results. Newcastle on the other hand are still on a high from that wonderful night in Rotterdam in the Champions League. Expect plenty of goals, a rambling post-match interview by "Sir Bob", and the obituories being written on Man Ures empire. 2-1 to the Toon.

SELECTED MATCH ODDS.

Man Utd to win: 8/11 Newcastle to win: 100/30

First scorer odds: Van Nistlerooy(MU)-9/2
Shearer(NU)-6/1
Solskjaer(MU)-13/2
Bellamy(NU)-7/1

Newcastle to win 2-1: 14/1

SUPER SUNDAY

Charlton take on Blackburn on the Ford Super Sunday match on Sky Sports 1. Charlton have a woeful record at The Valley, while Blackburn are still smarting from a woeful UEFA Cup exit at the hands of Celtic. Don't expect a wonder match from two teams who will no doubt end up in mid-table when the pots are dished out at the end of the season. 1-1 Draw.

SELECTED MATCH ODDS.

Charlton to win: 6/4 Blackburn to win: 13/8

First odds scorer: Cole, Yorke (B)-5/1
Bartlett, Euell(C)-6/1

Draw 1-1: 9/2

OTHER PREMIERSHIP GAMES

Aston Villa pl
ay West Ham at Villa Park with both teams firmly rooted at the wrong end of the table. West Ham cannot win a game at home, while the Villa forwards couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. As West Ham are away from home, have a look at them at 5/2.
Bolton play Chelsea at the Reebok stadium in a very difficult match to call. Not because the teams are evenly matched- Chelsea should win at a canter, but this is precisely the kind of match that Chelsea always seem to lose. Chelsea are unbackable at 5/6, so look at Bolton at 11/4.
Everton are riding on a cloud at presnent, but even the most ardent Evertonian must admit that they are fast becoming a "Wayne Rooney" only team. However, they are surely still too good to lose to West Brom at Goodison. Hard to back though at 4/9.
Fulham play Liverpool at Loftus Road, and couldn't be doing so at a better time, as Liverpool are still smarting from their shock Champions League exit to FC Basle last week. Fulham aren't playing too good themselves at present, and a drw looks a good bet at 11/5.
Middlesborough are another team going through a sticky patch at the moment, but they are still a good bet to beat the utterly inconsistant Manchester City at The Riverside. Boro can be backed at around 8/11
League leaders Arsenal go to St Mary's to play Southampton on the back of last weeks excellent 3-0 derby win against ten-man Spurs. Southamption played well for half an hour against Newcastle last week, but faded badly when Newcastle equalised, and Arsenal should be away bankers at 4/6
The filthy scum (Sunderland) play host to Steve Bruce's Birmingham at the "Stadium of Shite" on Saturday hoping ti improve on their pathetic league placing. Replacing Peter Reid with the equally dire Howard Wilkinson is one of the jokes of the season, so have a go at improving Birmingham at 13/5.
Finally, Sunday's pay-per-view offering on Premiership Plys sees Tottenham play Lee
ds Utd at White Hart Lane. Hoddle has got Spurs playing some decent stuff at home, while Leeds are the most unpredictable team in the League at present(Only team to win at Newcastle this season, beaten by Sunderland at home). Leeds should lose this game, so by cunning use of reverse psychology, back them to win at a ropey 9/4.

BET OF THE WEEK.

OK, I am biased, but Newcastle at 100/30 to beat a declining Manchester United is worth a look. West Ham at 5/2 at Villa is also a decent punt.

JOKE OF THE WEEK.

England to beat South Africa in the Rugby Union at 1/8 is surely a mistimed April Fool. Don't be one yourselve, and avoid.

MONEYMAKER

Rack these little beauties up in a well paid four-timer. Bolton (11/4), Leicester(8/15), Portsmouth(8/11) and Hull(4/6) should be enough to win you a few quid.

That should be that for this weekend. I'll be back on Monday to look at next weeks Champions League action, and needless to say I will be predicting that Newcastle beat Inter Milan! I'll also have a look at sports biggest bottlers, and give you some top tips on how to beat those bas***d bookies.

I hope that I have put his in the right place(probably not), thank you for reading and good luck!

Harry Houdini would have struggled to predict this weeks results. I said I thought this may have been in the wrong place, but I also thought I had made it clear in the title what this op was about. It was also meant to be a bit of fun, not a "serious" betting guide.
You have read and rate this 5 days after I have written it-of course it is outdated!! In the meantime I have written other ops, feel free to read them.
