We're getting better (Northern Ireland National Football Team)

Advantages: David Healy and Roy Carrol Disadvantages: Keith Gillespie
Sammy McLroy thank you. Since big Sammy took over Northern Ireland are on the up. With players like David Healy, Stuart Elliot, and Aaron Hughes all gaining in experience and confidence at international and with the exception of Healy at club level they can only get better. If the present team keeps getting better we can expect to be making an impact on world international football in 4 or 5 years. I'm not saying we'll win the world cup or anything like that but even qualifying and holding our own would seem like we'd won it. Northern Ireland has a population of about 1.5 million people and England of about 60 million. So if you consider the ability of the N. Ireland squad compared to the present England one there is not much difference considering the respective sizes of the two countries. Summary: |
