Cricket in GeneralNewest Review: ... to the batsmen who tries to score runs . I will not go in to all the details as it is quite alot to get through but that is the basic idea. Each tea consists of 11 players who each take a turn bowling and batting. In the main form of the game each team usually bats twice. The 2020 version of the game is a shorter version of the game which provides bigger hits (more sixes and fours) so is ... more |

Cricket isn't my most favourite sport. I used to play a bit whilst at school but lost interest after a while. The limited overs game and especially the rise of 2020 cricket has got me interested again. With the Ashes as well not to long away, cricket has this summer at least come back to the forefront of English sport. It is basically a game played with a bat which is made of wood (usually willow) and a leather ball. The ball used is hard so protective equipment is worn by the batsmen which include pads (to protect knees and shins) , gloves, box (to protect the groin area) and a helmet. The bowler bowls a ball to the batsmen who tries to score runs . I will ... Read the complete review

Well it's a sunny Sunday afternoon, and as I look out on the playing field opposite me, what do I see? Cricket!! Now I know alot of people think this is one of the more boring activities known to man! So, is it? Well cricket has been going for a long long time. I would be here all day explaining the game, but the basic idea is you have eleven players per side. You have bowlers who bowl the ball and batters who hit the ball. So a bowler bowls at the batsman who will try and hit the ball, then he runs between the two sets of wickets to obtain points, known as runs. Or he can hit the ball past the outer boundary rope which gets him four runs or six if it ... Read the complete review

Hi there, all you sports fans. It is Mayan820 here from sunny South Africa. This review will fall more under "Sports type" and in this review I speak about 5 day test cricket, not the one day version of the game . . . The game of cricket is played between two teams (say X & Y) of 11 players each. In the classic 5 day version of the game each team must go in twice. The team who goes in first (say team X) will bat until all its batsmen are out, including the not out batsman. Team Y will go in to bat next until they are all out. Team X who has been out in the field and bowling while team Y was in, will now have a second chance to go in, in ... Read the complete review

Cricket was first played in England in the 16th century and is now the country's summer national sport. Despite this you'll find that access to playing cricket is very poor in most schools. This is because of the costs associated with equipment, practice nets and coaching. This is a shame really because cricket in my opinion is a very noble game with a high degree of skill involved and with superior sporting ethics compared to many other sports. As well as being played in The British Isles the other power bases of cricket from a mass participation point of view are (in no particular order) Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri ... Whenever the word cricket is mentioned in any type of conversation, a overwhelming feeling of love ensues, covering my body. I've played cricket since I was seven years of age, and haven't stopped since. I absolutely love everything about the game, and have decided to write this 'Informative article' to encourage people to feel the same. The history of cricket Cricket first originated in England around about 1600. It was first played by children, but quickly grew in popularity among adults. The earliest evidence of a 'serious' cricket match was in 1697. The teams involved were not known, but it took place in Sussex. Cricket continued to be 'just a ... Read the complete review
