A long long time ago in a far far galaxy, there lived a little boy who thought Athletics was the ultimate sport to watch on TV. Taking part was never a factor, watching great athletes on the screen doing their stuff was magical. I loved all the big meetings, olympics, world cup etc. Many years later I have come to regret spending hours on TV watching track and field events. I regret it all because out of all sports Athletics is the worst. This sport is ruled by cheating men and women, people who would do anything to win. So in the week that British Athletics caved in to the lawyers over the Dwain Chambers affair, it has been as equally cowardly over the Olympics in China, asking athletes to sign wavers and promise not to politically use their voice to attack the Chinese regime. This is the same Chinese regime that is funding the genocide in Sudan in return for cheap oil and weapons sales. Drug Cheats fine...genocide fine. They are even going to stop the athletes wearing masks in the long distance races as it may be seen as snub to the smog filled cities hospitality.
