Since writing my original review below I read another good use for bi carb. When somone has chicken pox if you use it in their bathwater or even sprinkle it dry onto the itchy areas it can help reduce the soreness.

I'm one of those people who use bicarbonate of soda for everything.

Good points:

Medical uses good for indigestion, as a paste mixed with water to cool down rashes and also on insect bites.

Around the house added to water for washing worktops etc and especially good when washing out the fridge.

But watch out:

It is used for cooking things like greens to keep the colour but it has been shown to destroy the vitamins in the veg.

But be careful if you have high blood pressure. Not when you are doing the cleaning but be careful not to take to much for indigestion because increased sodium levels can in some cases lead to trouble. Just like taking to much salt for suffers of high blood pressure.
