Advantages: Free Tips, Hopefully successful

Disadvantages: I might be wrong

If you would have followed my tips last week you would have ended up with a minimum profit of 3 pts, maybe more depending on the bookie you bet at. Not a bad first week, especially if you did follow me.

Before I discuss this weeks selections let me just reiterate some points for people who may not have seen the column last week.

Let me just tell you from the start that I am just an ordinary man who enjoys a bet. I am in no way connected to any organsiation, bookmaker or website. I would like to say that I am very knowledgeable on a wide range of sports and thats why I feel I can offer tips the way I will be doing.

You will see many website and adverts offering you tips, but always for a price without any guarantee of success. Now I'm not saying I can guarantee winners and anyone who can is a liar, but I won't charge you for the service. This will hopefully be the first of many columns, hopefully successful ones at that.

Before I start I'll just give you a few pointers about what you should be doing in general.

1) Start off with a betting pool, and don't bet more than is in it. I recomend about 15 times your usual stake. So if you normal bet £2 for a single, have your pool at £30. If, or should I say hopefully when you win, keep this money to one side, DON'T put it back into your betting pool. Once to pool is empty, refill it.

2) Always look for value. The internet is a great way to look around for the best price. You've got the tool there so use it.

3) Never, never, never bet more than you can afford. I cannot emphasise how important this is.

Right, so here we go again. This week I'm only going to offer 3 tips. One reason is the weather, it's going to affect a lot of sport, in particular the horse racing which is my particular vice. So here we go anyway.

1) Ladies Wimbeldon Final

Venus versus Serena, sister versus sister. However, it is fair to
say that Venus is the much more accomplished player and also reigning champion, which carries a lot of weight. Ask Sampras...Therefore I recommend 5 pts on a Venus Williams win @ 8/13. And I'll also think that it'll be a whitewash, but I won't advise a bet on this.

2) British Formula One

Yes we all know that a Ferrari driver will win, but is it only me that thinks that Jenson Button looks slightly @ 50/1 with Blue Sq? I'd take 1pt E/W of that.

3) Natwest Series

India v Sri Lanka. Tendulkar should have a field day seeing as the only man who stood a chance of stemming his form, Murali, isn't fit again. The Indian attack isn't the best but their batting is and this should get them through this. Have 3 pts @ 4/7.

So just to recap

VENUS WILLIAMS to beat Serena Williams
JENSON BUTTON E/W in the British Grand Prix
INDIA to beat Sri Lanka in the cricket.

Happy Punting, lets hope for another successful week.
