Advantages: healthier, Easier to get clothes, Fitter
Disadvantages: there are none
It started with a kiss, then we went a little further, then nine months later a 10lb 4oz baby boy popped out of me. I named him Steven and he has grown up to be everything i could want in a child. What has this got to do with dieting? Well, i put on a whooping seven stone having my son. At first, i couldn't see the weight, i was imagining i guess, the slim nine and a half stone woman was looking back at me in the mirror. Until i looked at a photo, and broke down, It was me. I was hideous, to go from a gorgeous size 10-12, to a massive size 22, i knew i needed to lose it. The problem was i was on a bugdet, i had no money for fantastic low fat foods, so i never thought i would lose the weight. My husband said i should just stop eating for a while, not in a horrible way, but so i would lose my appetite. I knew this was a silly idea, so i went and bought a slimming magazine called 'Slimming'. I read all the stories and felt inspired, so i decided to devise my own diet, using the food graph in the back. I made sure i was eating all recommended daily food groups, and devised a diet that would fill me up, was low in fat, and low in calories. Impossible i hear you say?? No!!!! I worked out the average calories, and even though i was eating three meals a day, and allowing for snacks, i was never really going over 1000 calories a day. I limited my fat intake to just 15g a day (the recommended is 70g). Over 8 months i did lose 5st 6lbs. I didn't only watch what i ate, i walked every where, and i pulled out an old exercise video and used it 5 days out of seven. So yes it is hard work, but you don't go into a shop, grab food and walk out with out paying, its the same with our body, we can't expect it to work for us, we need to help it, our body doesn't want to lose the weight, it wants to hold on to it, its up to you to exercise to get rid of it. If you are still reading this, and you are not frightene
d of the exercise, i will now give you my diet, so grab a pen and paper!! *Important things to remember - no butter or fat is allowed whatsoever, no dressings, no cheese, no pizza, always drink skimmed milk in teas and coffees and substitute sweetners for sugar. No more than 1/2 pt of skimmed milk per day. No more than 3 eggs per week. No fizzy drinks, and only low calorie squash, no fruit juices. herbal tea with sweetner and water can be drunk unlimited. Don't eat after 6.30pm, if you get hungry, drink plenty. Breakfast * 1 tin of tomatoes + 1 toast * 1/2 tin weightwatchers beans + 1 toast * 25g og All Bran(or simular)+skimmed milk * 1 toast + unlimited steamed or grilled fresh mushrooms(not tinned) * 1 toast with jam * 1 poached egg + 1 toast * treat day special - if you want to lose extra weight 1 glass of grapefruit juice before breakfast, no more than 4 glasses per week though Lunch * 1 small jacket + 1/2 tin weightwatcher beans or 25og cottage cheese * 2 toast + 1/2 tin weightwatcher beans * Weightwatcher soup + 1 toast(dry) * Ham sandwich with lots of salad * Large salad * Tuna sandwich plus salad -all can be served with side salad, but no dressing or salad cream. I chopped up 3 tomatoes, added a spinkle of dried oregano and salt. - for pudding one diet yougurt and one piece of fruit Dinner * 1 Chicken breast, jacket potato + lots of veg * Casserloe, with chicken and veg, no fat added * 1 boil in the bag rice, plus 1 cup of mixed veg * large jacket with beans -other meals can be made up, but you must remember no fat, small portions of carbohydrate foods, but large portions of veg. - For pudding, 2 fruit or 1 pack low fat jelly made up or 1 diet yogurt Snacks No more than 2 per day * 2 fruit * 1 yoghurt * i slim-a-soup * 1 options drinking chocolate You must be dedicated, and if you are, as
a reward, fix a day as your treat day. I picked saturday, and i would allow myself a small mixed grill for breakfast: 1 chipolata 1 slice bacon 1 poached egg 6 grilled mushrooms 2 grilled tomatoes and 1/2 tin beans Or if you prefer to eat out Mcdonalds Big breakfast, give the hash Brown to your husband, and drink a tea. For the rest of the day, eat as usual, but about 6pm you can eat a small milky way bar, or a small flyte bar, plus 2 bags of 10p crisps (these are the best because they are baked), and 1 pack of wine gums. Follow this diet for 1 month and you will lose weight, but you must exercise. I got up at 6.30am drank water, and did my video, for about 50 mins Mon-Fri)( i like Bevely Callard's video). I felt awake for the rest of the day, and i had no excuses not to do it during the day because i had already done it. The diet is boring, but you find different meals that are the same calories as these that will suit your tastes more. Most importantly, you are doing it to get back to that slim old you, don't feel it is a chore to diet, enjoy it, and look forward to weighing yourself once a week. I now feel fitter, happier, and i enjoy every bite of my food, and i haven't put the weight back on, and this is 1 year down the road, so you can do it, just be positive and strict.
