Steven Gerrard is immense.

Since his slow introduction from the Academy to the first team, Stevie G has proved to all kopites and football fans and pundits across the country (and possibly Europe) that he is the future of English football.

For a lad so young and, let's face it, inexperienced, he shows so much composure, skill and, er, experience that he will surely get an automatic first team spot for every game, but as he's still growing, it's best to rest him now and again so that we can watch him lift loads of trophies as LFC captain in the not-too-distant furure.

He has received so many comparisons to Graeme Souness, Bryan Robson et al, but I think he has more than them put together - shooting ability, pinpoint passing over 40 or 50 yards and general midfield bossing not to mention the relentless and ferocious tackling - the guy has it all.

And the best part of it? He wants to stay at Liverpool for his whole career. Nice one lad!
