Glass PaintingNewest Review: ... technique. Painting glass makes me relax because I can be creative what to draw on the glass then how to colour it. It takes me a few hours to prepare something but I enjoy each moment of it. When I started painting we had no children. Since then we have two sons and moved 1,500 km away. I used to work late in the office then after we had dinner I calmed down myself by painting a little. My ... more |

This is my 100th review. I know I should share some information about myself but I don't want to do it the regular way. I will share with you my technique of relax: painting glass. I got a lovely candle holder painted by a very kind friend of mine. I loved it as its colours are beautiful especially when I lit the candle. I asked her how she made it and a few weeks later I asked her to come with me to help to buy a starters' pack. I bought a contour paint, 6 different colours of glass paint, paint thinner, 2 paintbrushes and two glasses. I was very excited to try them so after I arrived home I started painting the first glass. It was a triangle based ... Read the complete review

I started glass paintind about 18 months ago and it has given me something to do on a night when listening to the radio. Now dont get me wrong im not a middle-aged singleton. Which is not my view but i was quite surprised when my so called mates expressed this view. In fact i am very much the opposite, which tells you that it can suit everyone. I first started glass painting when i helped my niece with a kit she had got for christmas, i must say what a lovely gift! It contained glass paints, 2 brushes, 4 glass jars, some templates, and some outliner. Together we made some lovely jars to store thing in. Since then i have got my self a ... I first started this off when I saw a friend of mine do this hobby and some of the things she had painted were lovely. I decided to start this hobby but first to get a emplate book and to read about it also I needed to get the outliner which is just whatyou paint inside of like an outline and this can be in any colours which decorates it nicely. I also needed a brush and paints, you can get water based or spirit based but most recommend water bsed, this is if you want a see through look which is what most do want. To start off this hobby it would be best to start using your outliner and going over some smaller templates on sheets of acetate which are ... Read the complete review

I have only been doing this a short while and I really enjoy it. it all started one sunday afternoon when I was a bit bored. I enjoy painting and drawing anyway, but someone suggested this to me and I have been hooked ever since. I started off on flat glass as the paint dries quicker and doesn't run as much. i was surprised at how easy it is, anyone could do it! I started off with simple designs, working up to more detailed ones. I have painted numerous things from salt and pepper pots, picture frames, milk jugs, glass bowls, bottles and jars. You can use specialist glass paint from around £2.50 per pot or you can use plain ... Read the complete review

Glass painting doesn't really take a lot of skill and I've taught many people the basics in just a few hours. I went to a craft class a couple of years ago at my local YWCA and was amazed at how quickly something can be transformed by just a little gold outliner. We didn't have a lot of equipment. I wasn't very good at it but I was keen to learn so I went to the library and got some books out to see if I could teach myself. To start off I practiced on some old bottles and I did everything freehand, I can't draw so I stuck to very simple designs like a dot with lines radiating from it, the way a child would draw the sun. I was ... Read the complete review
