Jonathan Greening is a product of a superb youth academy at one of Europe's leading teams. Manchester United. Unlike Arsenal (gulp) and Chelsea, Man United have a majority of players that are born in England and with their superb young players coming through all the time, it is releaving that at least one top club looks for British first. Greening is a startling fast forward and has scored many times for the United reserves and I think perhaps once or twice for the main squad. He's bright, knows how to play the ball well and has astounding ball control. He's one of United's most promising players and fully deserves to wear the famous 1st team ... Read the complete review

Another prime example of United's stunning youth system. He's come through the ranks at the club and has played well for the England under 21's. We don't often get to see him play but for small time cup games and when other, high profile players are rested, but there's something about him that tells you he's going to be big. He has pace, skill and determination - not afraid of making a tackle nor taking on a defender. He can run, at times, like Luke Chadwick and Ryan Giggs, but doesn't have that cutting edge that the great players do...not yet, anyway. He's still very young and can only get better as he gains more ... Read the complete review

John Greening is clearly a talent. His recent performance in the Worthigton Cup at Sunderland was one of an experienced player, as he repeatedly made fools of the Sunderland defence. His running, passing and vision were exceptional. He wasn't afraid to shoot and when he did he looked like getting a goal or two. Considering the relative lack of games for the club, he is definitely one for the future. He will add an element not seen often on the right side of a United side, the taking on of players. Beckham is class, no doubt, but taking men on and beating them isn't his thing, thats why central midfield may suit him better. Greening can cross a decent ... Read the complete review

Jonathan Greening shorly will be a regular in the United first team in years to come. He has bags of talent and when he has played for the first team he looks at ease and comfortable on the ball. He is a very confident player and has been excellent in the reserves. If it hadn't been for the fact that United have got some of the best midfield players in the world then Greening would already be in the team. He would fit into most current Premiership sides. Shorly it can't be long before he starts to stake a better claim for first team football at United. I like Jonathan Greening and saw him play against Croatia Zagreb last year in the Champions league and I thought ... Read the complete review

The fact that United were prepared to let Greening go on a free transfer because he wanted £3,00 a week wages, and United were only prepared to offer £2,000 tells you a lot about the club. United, unlike many other clubs, have a wage structure and are prepared to keep to it. In a world where Newcastle are £70m in debt, and Real Madrid over £200m, United are prepared to ensure financial security, by not paying over the odds for players (which is why we will never sign talented but ludicrously over-valued players like Zidane and Figo). However, as Fergie said, it would be a shame if he left, because he is going to be one hell of a player. From what I have seen, I have ... Read the complete review
