From the greatest fish port in Europe, possibly the world hails a mighty football team. A team of skill, a team of endurance, a team of pure genius. I’m sure you will all now who I am talking about but in case you don’t know too much about the great sport itself I will tell. We are talking Grimsby Town. I thought now was the time to write an opinion about my local team close to my heart. I used to be a regular at Blundell Park watching Grimsby Town as often as I can. I'm not a massive long - life supporter of Grimsby Town, because if you've read any of my other opinions you'll know I love Manchester United. However, living across the Humber from Britain's biggest Industrial Town, and Grimsby obviously being the best team in the Yorkshire/Lincolshire area, I sometimes spare a Saturday to see them play. Grimsby Town aren't the best of teams; I'll admit to that. However, I feel they deserve to be where they are, in the first division. The supporters have high hopes of seeing the Mariners in the Premiership, but they have to be realistic, Grimsby won't make it, unless they suddenly get better. As ...

I have supported Grimsby Town ever since I was a boy, and I go and watch all their macthes when they are playing a London team. Lately, however, they have been playing very poorly, and they have had a disastrous start to this season, and are now in the bottom section of the First Division table. They are well reknowned as a selling club, and have now lost their manager who was brilliant and they are selling all their best players. We have to be realistic in saying that they are probably never going to get into the Premiership, because they simply do not have the funds with which to attact the best players, like Fulham and Watford do.
