Advantages: Everlasting Love
Disadvantages: None
It`s hard to believe it`s actually two years to the day that I made that long walk down the aisle to finally claim my bride.. (I`d actually got my ticket from the checkout three years previous to that, but you know what it`s like when your waiting for your number to be called..) So on a Sunny, but Slightly Windy 23rd September, I made the ultimate daredevil leap of faith. It truly seems like yesterday, but since then we`ve been blessed with the Birth of our daughter Bethanny Ann Willow.. So at this time of looking forward to the future, and what's in store for us next, we have both also decided to take a few moments and have a look back, back before the wedding, back before our first flat together, back before he mum swore I`d never talk to her again, back before we ever met face to face, yes right back to the first time I met Vickster, in a quite little internet chatroom called Dougs.. I`d been a regular at Dougs two years previously, but had left the site, and the internet behind me to follow my heart and also attempt to find fame and fortune in Birmingham.. The Relationship didn`t work out (which as you`ll read, was a very good thing indeed) and I wasn`t particularly succesful at finding either fame nor fortune, infact at one point I ended up living rough on the cruel cold streets of `Brum (Can`t you hear the violins? Awwww.) I was lucky enough to be found by volunteers, and brought into the loving embrace of a homeless charity called Saint Basil's. I moved between various hostels and the like, not really sure of the direction I wanted my life to go in, and it was thru a Hostel that I once more developed a love for Computers, and particularly the Internet.. Well old friendships were restruck and during a meeting with some old net friends I was reminded of the fun we all used to have at Dougs Chat, Well I`d virtually forgotten all about it, so the next day I decided a trip to my "Ol` Hunting Ground" was in order, and it was thei
r that I first met Vicky (Awwww....) For me it was love at first chat, but she was so busy being the center of attention she hardly noticed me, so drastic measures were called for, and on her declaration that she was leaving, I decided to take the unusually bold step of pinching her butt.. (Which I don`t recomend to all men as a manner for attracting the attention of a lady, especially not in your Local Supermarket..) Well, that certainly got me noticed.. (More so that I realised as I was too learn years later, when she informed me she`d blushed all the way home..) And the next day we spent hours chatting and getting to know each other, this carried on for some days, until I plucked up the courage to ask her if she`d like to talk on the telephone instead of via the Net.. Well, we`d already talked a lot about backgrounds and so she knew I was born on the wirral (near liverpool for those that don`t know.) And so she was expecting a somewhat scouse accent from me, and not the deep brum one she got.. Infact my accent nearly brought an end to the whole thing as she could hardly understand a word I said, but we both felt there was something worth fighting for between us, and so we persevered.. A week or so after our first meeting online, I actually reconciled with my parents, and so I actually moved back to The Wirral to live with them. This had the added bonus of meaning It was easier for me to meet up with Vicky Real-Time.. And so during an early morning phone call, we arranged that first "Real" Meeting.. I can tell you I`ve never been more nervous in my whole life than I was on that one hour journey between Liverpool and Stockport.. (I had no nails left at all, and infact I was probably lucky to still have fingers, Good thing she didn`t live in Sheffield!) We`d arranged to meet by the ticket office, and so walking from the platform to the ticket office, I spot a girl that might be her, my knee's went to jelly (and I was chewing
so hard on my bottom lip I was sure I could taste blood..) How I made those final first steps I`m not sure, but As I looked deep into her eyes, I finally knew I really should have believed more in love at first sight.. Her dulcet tones as she welcomed me where even more sensual and inviting than they had been on the phone, and as our hands slipped into one anothers it just felt so right as we made the short walk to her home.. It`s funny, it was the sunniest I can ever remember it being that day, and the birds were out, and everyone was smiling and it was like a scene for the corniest lovely duvey movie you`ve ever seen, but it was so real, and so right.. And then I met her Mum for the first time, and that was an experience (to say the least..) She`d just shaved her legs and so she was hitching up her dress and inviting me to come have a feel.. hmmmm, and then Sarah, Vicky's Sister, decided that I was infact a mobile playgym, to be fully explored.. And I won`t even mention the incident in the car when Vicky's Mum dropped me off at the station and Informed me I`d haveto spend the night next time... Well, it`s a wonder I ever went back (Infact Vicky's questioned me on many an occasion as to why infact I did... The only answer I`ve ever been able to give her is that, putting up with all of that has always been a hell of a lot easier, than the thought of putting up with a life without her.. (Soppy I know, but true..)) It was three months after that first meeting that I actually proposed, and there`s rumours abound as to how I actually did propose, Some say, that I got down on bended knee after sampling the delights of Vicky's Homemade Pavlova for the first time, Others believe, I proposed during the throws of passion, and instead of calling her name, I shouted for her to marry me (probably the most likely to be true, but I`m not saying...) And others will state, That I bought the domain name www.willyoumarryme.com and txt`d her the url.
. Now believe what you will, all I`m say is I`m a Leo, and very true to my nature in that matter ;) We actually went Ring Shopping after I`d proposed, and it was during this trip that I learned the important lesson, Never take a Brehaut Woman Ring/Shoe/Clothes Shopping.. For 4 Hours!! We wandered the streets of Chester to return to the FIRST SHOP! to buy the FIRST RING!! We looked at... (Grrr! Women!!) It was two years after I proposed that we actually got married (Although we went to every wedding show we could during those two years, mmmmm.. Free Wedding Cake.. Yummy..) We were married at Birkenhead Town Hall.. (Wedding Pics can be found at: http://www.cybcity.com/mitnik ) On A Sunny but Windy Day.. I was so nervous about forgetting my vows or saying the wrong name or just generally doing something wrong, but luckily my head got the better of my heart and everything went without a stitch.. (Although there`s a bit on the Wedding Video where Nanna asks Vicky if I was "tingly" (there's always one isn`t there) She was actually asking what my surname was.. (It`s Tingey)) Another one of my favourite bits from the wedding is a shot of Sarah Yawning, which all in all sums weddings up I think... So, that was a brief look back at those days before we were married, I`ve had to miss out the good bits that didn`t involve my now wife, so look for the uncensored version via your local News of the World or Sunday Sport.
