Advantages: Hopefully find something useful!

Disadvantages: Might not find anything useful!

I have been a member of Dooyoo for a little over a year now, and think I have found my feet. I enjoy the site greatly and have been making a little bit of money here and there as well as friends along the way.

This is my 100th review on Dooyoo and wanted to write a little something for those who are just joining and want to get the most out of the site.

So here are a few of my key tips for enjoying and benefiting most from Dooyoo life.

1) Read around before posting

When you've heard about a fantastic website that will pay you hard cash for writing reviews, it's hard to not want to jump straight in, but in the long run. Holding back for a while will benefit you in the long run.

How can you write on a review site without knowing what is really expected? Yes there are rules and guidelines put forward by Dooyoo, but the best way to really get an idea of the site and the level of reviews is to read around a little first.

Even if it's just for a day or so, reading "crowned" reviews is the best way to get a feel for the quality of writing that is rewarded for its high standard,

2) Word Limited and Opinion

My next piece of advice, which I am sure most members will agree with, is to use the 150 word minimum as exactly that, a minimum. Most reviews you will see around the site will far exceed this. Dooyoo expect 150 words of opinion. Not 150 words saying how you're mum brought it for you and your cousin Frank was really jealous. To be eligible for payment Dooyoo expect 150 of "I enjoyed it because...." And "In my opinion it could be improved by..." etc. We want to know WHY you liked or dislike the product and how it made you feel. Did the film make you happy and provoke thought? Why wasn't the Hotel suitable?

3) Writing a full and relevant review

A lot of members will have their own preference for what they deem most important to include in a review. Personally I tend to go by what would I want to know, if I was looking up about this restaurant myself, what would I want to know about to make a decision whether of not to visit?

As long as you honestly feel you have covered all important aspects of the product then you should have a useful review on your hands. Again reading some other reviews will help with noticing other aspects that maybe you hadn't thought of, but would be helpful to a reader. Including these points in your review next time will help with improvement and trying to write a "complete" review that will help anyone reading.

4) Don't Churn or Revenge Rate, Be Honest and a Read as well as Write

Dooyoo do pay a reasonably generous amount for your time and effort here on Dooyoo but that doesn't mean you're getting the full potential out of Dooyoo just by writing 15 reviews a day. Rates will amount to a nice amount of money too. I have written 100 reviews. This meaning I should have £50 from Dooyoo, but I have cashed my 3rd cheque and I'm working towards my 4th, so rates certainly can be just as lucrative.

Returning rates is also an important part of Dooyoo life. Everyone is here to make a little money or improve their writing, both of which happen when people read and rate others work. It common courtesy to give as you would expect to receive. I try to keep the amount of reviews I have read equal or greater than what I have received. I know people won't always have the time for this and there are no rules to say you have to, but it is appreciated by the other members.

Reading a lot of reviews, even if you are not directly returning rates, will please other members because no doubt most members will get rated while you're reading about the site anyway.

Honest rating is something that is key to Dooyoo's success, if everyone is up-rating as not to cause offence then Dooyoo will loose its credibility and stop getting the people who ultimately pay us, interested. If you honestly didn't find a review completely helpful, then rate accordingly, Of course this goes both ways, every person is an individual and will be looking for specific information sometimes. Sometimes a review with a lot of VU ratings will be rated lower by other members. This isn't a dig at your writing, do not be deterred. People have different opinions and this will show sometimes. Unless you are constantly getting SU and NU rates, in which case then taking member's advice on how to improve is essential.

5) Include yourself, have fun and Remember is only the internet!

My most important piece of advice for new members looking to enjoy Dooyoo is to have fun. Ultimately you are getting a small cash reward for writing a consumer review on a community based site. There are a lot of nice people around on Dooyoo. Most of which will always offer advice and return rates, you may end up making friends as well as finding out about some products you never knew existed.

There are no groups of members on here trying purposely to gang up on new members; there are no elite groups that will exclude you just because you are new. Jump in after taking in my advice above and become part of something.

Not all communications are clear over the internet, but giving people the benefit of the doubt and taking some members with a pinch of salt will definitely help you to enjoy your time here more. If you don't like something you can flick to another web page, you can ignore people online who are causing any grief (not that they are that common place on Dooyoo anyway) and you must remember that hidden behind a computer screen some people may be a little more confident then they would be in person.

Make friends, be polite, be constructive, be honest, try hard, have fun and remember it is just the internet!

Thanks for Reading :)
