I Have been a fan of the game of snooker for over 10 of my 22 years. And in that time Stephen Hendry has been my favourite player throughout. I've seen him play an Exhibition match with Ronnie O'Sullivan in my hometown of Taunton. This was abou ten years ago and I Got both their autographs and left feeling I had watched a great game of snooker. Anyway For my review of the great Scot I will give my reasons for liking him and also some information about the man. I Start with the man himself. Stephen Hendry was born on 13th January 1969 in Edinburgh, He was quite a late developer in Snooker he got a snooker table from his mum and dad when he was 12 or 13 and over ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Hendry hero halo falls! (318 words)

Oh Hendry, how I used to worship you in my youth! You were my hero! And look what's happened now! Stephen Hendry was THE snooker player of the nineties - in fact he was ranked world number 1 for every year in the Nineties bar 1999. During that time, he has won the World Snooker Championship for an incredible 7 times, and the Masters 6 times. He has knocked in more century breaks than any other player - in fact, he is almost double his nearest rival. These are statistics that will probably never be beaten. He dominates almost every snooker record there is. And why will he never be beaten? Well, he is a victim of his own success. Having been ...  Read the complete review

Stephen Hendry: Snooker Champion of the world! (90 words)
by - written on 19/11/00
Rating:

Stephen Hendry is without doubt a fantastic Snooker player. He's won nearly every title, if not every snooker title there is. He's been number one in the world, and has won so many tournaments and championships. Hendry is still, in my view, one of the top 3 snooker players in the world, and I'm sure he'll win a few more championships yet. He has an excellent accuracy and calm temperament. A top sportsman if ever there was one, and one of Scotland's best. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Man of the 90's (153 words)
by - written on 10/11/00 (Somewhat useful, 25 readings)
Rating:

If Steve Davis was the man of the 80’s, Stephan Hendry was certainly the man of the 90’s. When Stephen rose to fame, it seemed like the beginning of a new era in snooker players. His whole game was, and still is, fantastic – but in particular, the amount of skill in potting balls was unbelievable. Until he rose to fame in the early 90’s, long potting was a skill not truly mastered by anyone. For many years, Stephan remained in a class of his own, with none of the “old-timers” able to come close. However, over the past 4-5 years, things have changed. A new breed of snooker players has risen up, all able to compete with ...  Read the complete review
