Newest Review: ... Lopez and Kid Moro. It wouldn't be until his 90th fight that he got his first title chance, for the World/NBA/NYSAC Featherweight titles against Petey Sarron. At this point Armstrongs record was a much better 72-11-7 and he was on a streak stretching back 34 fights since he'd last lost on the score cards (he had lost via DQ to Tony Chavez 11 fights in). After the Chavez fight he went on a 33 fight KO streak leading up the fight with Sarron. This lead to one of the most amazing runs in boxing's long history, in which Armstrong would take the Welterweight crown by defeating HOF star Barney Ross who outweighed him by about 10 lbs. 5 successfu... more

Whe we talk about p4p greatness in boxing Sugar Ray Robinson jumps out, but another fighter that would need mentioning is a man in an historical position of being the first and only man to hold 3 titles in 3 separate divisions at the same time, "Homicide Hank", Henry Armstrong. Armstrong was born with the delightful name of Henry Melody Jackson Jr. on December 12th 1912 and died aged October 22 1988. RING magazine and ESPN both rate Armstrong as the second best fighter of all time, behind Robinson though some of the boxing fraternity see them as being exchangeable with Armstrong as the best and Robinson a close second.
